Do-it-yourself country toilet step by step with dimensions. Do-it-yourself country toilet from scratch: diagrams, dimensions, design and layout

Do-it-yourself construction of a country toilet does not require serious construction experience and professional equipment.

This article will help you decide suitable material manufacturing a booth, learn about the main differences between sewers with and without a cesspool, and also provide complete instructions for building a country toilet.

Sanitary and hygienic standards for a country toilet

Before the beginning installation work for self-construction of a toilet in the country, you should carefully study the regulations that govern the construction procedure. There are certain requirements that must be met:

  • check that the toilet does not interfere with neighbors. Otherwise, they have the right to complain to the appropriate authority and there is a possibility that the building will need to be moved;
  • choose a location, taking into account all the standards and regulations for placement. If this is not done, the result will be a serious deterioration of the ecological situation in the area, pollution of the soil and nearby water bodies and water sources. The owner of the site will have to pay fines, health may also be impaired due to pollution. environment;
  • when designing, care must be taken to remove waste from the cesspool;
  • when choosing a suitable design, it is important to take into account the features of the site, in particular, the water horizon. If groundwater is located close to the surface, it is required to opt for a completely sealed system.

Attention! Following these requirements will prevent various operational problems in the future.

Choosing the location of the toilet

The main factor that you need to focus on when choosing a location is the type of building used. It is especially important whether there is a storage pit for waste, and whether the container where they will be stored is completely sealed.

Choosing a house for a toilet in the country

The next step is to choose the desired booth shape. The main types are:

  • "Starling house" - possesses pitched roof, differs in simplicity of a design and profitability. Best suited if the toilet is visited only in the summer;
  • "Hut" - has a complicated structure. It has the ability to retain heat even in winter, but involves a greater consumption of materials;
  • "Hut" - differs in the presence of protection from the winds, has a roof with two slopes;
  • "House" - this variety has high strength and can retain heat.

There are also sophisticated cubicles with a second shower compartment or extra space for other needs. Separately, it is possible to single out dry closets of an electric or chemical type, as well as those in which waste is processed using peat.

Dry closets are built when it is not possible to equip a waste pit or septic tank. Most suitable option in terms of economic accessibility and practicality is wooden toilet with a cesspool and a birdhouse type cabin.

Cabin drawings with dimensions

In order to properly carry out the installation procedure, it is important to find and pre-examine the correct drawings with the dimensions of the future toilet in the country. The simplest variety is the Birdhouse, even a complete novice in construction can build it, so we will explain the installation process using this type as an example.

In the above drawing, the following elements are numbered:

  1. Strapping (for connecting several components).
  2. Rack.
  3. Door.
  4. Doorhandle.
  5. Door crossbar.
  6. Front wall.
  7. Roof truss system.
  8. Roof covering.
  9. Ventilation.
  10. Deflector.
  11. Side wall.
  12. Top cover covering the drain hole.
  13. Support system (most often made of bricks).
  14. Back wall.

Advice! If the person producing the toilet in the country is experienced enough and has engineering knowledge, then he can draw up a drawing of the toilet for the country with his own hands. Otherwise, it is better for the master to use ready-made options.

We build a wooden toilet with a cesspool - step by step instructions

When the owner suburban area decided on the choice of a suitable place that meets all the requirements and rules, and also chose the necessary shape of the booth, you can begin to build a country toilet. This process includes several stages, first you need to prepare all the necessary materials.

To build a toilet, we need the following tools and materials:

  • 2 square meters roofing felt (for roofing and waterproofing);
  • sand;
  • cement block (4 pieces) or concrete curb (2 pieces, 2 meters long);
  • 40 pieces of lining;
  • electric jigsaw;
  • door with necessary accessories;
  • 4 things. edged board;
  • galvanized metal profile;
  • wooden beam;
  • nails, screws and other elements for fastening;
  • building level;
  • varnish or paint for finishing.

For additional insulation toilet may need foam. Also, the list does not include materials for beautiful interior cladding.

The depth of the cesspool should not be less than 2 meters. It can be built from various materials. The most popular are:

  • plastic;
  • brick;
  • concrete rings;
  • monolithic concrete.

Sheathing and roof construction

Basically, sheathing is carried out by means of boards or lining, which gives the structure a more aesthetic appearance.

The lining can be placed vertically or horizontally, depending on the preference and convenience of the owner of the summer cottage, who builds the wooden toilet on his own.

To the frame base, the elements are attached with nails, screws or other fasteners.

As a floor covering, thick boards made of wood are used, which is characterized by increased strength. The allowable thickness must be at least 4 cm.

In most cases, dacha owners self construction wooden toilet, provide for ventilation. Its installation is a fairly simple procedure: you need to place one end of the pipe inside the room, and the other - outside, placing it a meter above the roof of the house.

Wooden toilet without a pit

Making a cesspool with your own hands is the simplest and most effective way sewer implementation. However, this cannot be done if the following conditions are met:

  • shale or limestone soil;
  • The water level in the ground is more than 3 meters;
  • the dacha is visited by a large number of people, therefore, a significant load is planned.

In such a situation, the only way out will be the construction of a street country toilet without a drain pit. There are the following varieties of this type:

  • powder closet;
  • play closet;
  • dry closet.

Powder - closet in most cases is mounted when the site has a high level of groundwater. As a rule, the reservoir is located under the toilet bowl and has a small volume (up to 18-20 liters).

The basic principle of operation: drains are covered with a powdery composition (most often with peat mass), which prevents the appearance and spread of an unpleasant odor. After similar processing sewage is moved to compost.

The main advantage of this type of outdoor toilet without a cesspool is the simplicity of the structure and low construction costs.

  1. Observation window.
  2. Chair cover.
  3. Toilet seat
  4. storage capacity.
  5. Entrance door
  6. Support joist lining
  7. cesspool
  8. ventilation window

The play closet is distinguished by a completely sealed container, where sewage and drain water are located. Drains in such a toilet do not enter the soil, therefore they are not capable of polluting the environment.

It will be necessary to provide periodic cleaning by calling a special sewage equipment. The structure of the play closet suggests that the main storage tank can be located at some distance from the upper cabin, so such a toilet is often placed in a building.

The disadvantage is the inability to use the building in winter period, because drains freeze and are difficult to pump out. The solution is to install a special heating system.

Dry closets are often installed in the country. Their principle of operation is similar to the work of powders - a closet, waste treatment is also carried out with peat. In some cases, biological preparations containing microorganisms that speed up processing, or chemical agents are used.

When operating a chemical toilet, it is important to use only safe products.

Pros and cons of a cesspool

The advantages of building a pit toilet with your own hands:

  • the ability to create a filtration system that can independently get rid of wastewater and sewage. Thanks to this, it is not necessary to regularly call a sewage truck and provide access to the pit;
  • you can operate a similar toilet all year round.

Flaws:

  • it takes more time to build and drain equipment;
  • installation and creation of a toilet pit is more expensive;
  • Possibility of soil contamination high level groundwater.

Advantages of a country toilet, built independently, without a drain pit:

  • mobility, which allows you to easily move the building, as well as place the tank at some distance from the booth;
  • the possibility of erection at a close location of groundwater to the surface;
  • simple installation;
  • less stringent requirements for the location on the site, in particular, for distances to water sources, because hermetic system does not lead to environmental pollution;
  • if necessary, the building can be easily disassembled or completely removed.

Disadvantages of such toilets:

  • the likelihood of spreading the stench. This does not apply to all types of toilets (if processing occurs using peat, this problem does not arise). An unpleasant smell quickly appears due to the small volume of the tank where drains and waste are stored. The solution to the problem is the construction of a forced ventilation system;
  • the need to regularly eliminate the filling of the tank. This is done by sewage equipment or complete processing and transfer of waste to compost is ensured;
  • inability to use in winter.

Thus, the construction of a toilet is possible even for craftsmen who do not have experience in construction. However, it is important to study the instructions and recommendations in order to know how to build a toilet in the country correctly.

First of all, it is desirable to decide on the material and type of booth, then design the sewer. This will allow high-quality construction, as a result of which the toilet will last for decades.

The first building that appears on any lot is the toilet. We can somehow do without a house and a soul, but without this building - in any way. For many, a do-it-yourself toilet for a summer residence is the first building experience. It’s good that the structure is uncomplicated, so even without experience it’s easy to handle.

The very first building in the country is a toilet. Often this is the first experience of building with your own hands.

Although the country toilet is not the most complex building, there are many features. A clear action plan is indispensable. Let's write down the steps on how to build a toilet in the country:

  1. Choose the type of toilet.
  2. Determine the location on the construction site.
  3. Decide on the size and materials for construction.
  4. Start building.

Now about each point in more detail.

Without cesspool

For the most part, pitless toilets are built much easier and faster. In them, waste is collected in a sealed container, which is usually placed directly under the toilet seat. The difference lies in how the waste is recycled and the odor is neutralized. There are the following types:

The advantages of country toilets without a cesspool (also called dry) are significant:

The cons are big too:

  • Factory-made toilets are not that cheap.
  • It is necessary to change the container periodically.
  • It is necessary to monitor the availability of means of neutralization.

Norms for installing a toilet on the site

Most of the restrictions apply to pit latrines: possible contamination must be limited. The rules are:

The rest of the rules are valid for all types of toilets:

  • There must be at least 1 meter to the boundary of the site.
  • Doors should not open towards the adjacent area.
  • When choosing a location, the prevailing wind direction must be taken into account.

When choosing a place where you will build a toilet for a summer cottage with your own hands, pay attention not only to your own buildings and objects, but also to your neighbors. This will help to avoid friction with them and with the sanitation station.

If you are going to build a toilet with a cesspool, you must also add to all the listed requirements - the organization of an entrance for a sewage truck.

How to make a toilet in the country with your own hands

You have already gone through the first two steps: you have chosen the type of toilet and the place to install it. The next step is choosing the dimensions. It's not that hard to figure them out. They told how to choose the volume of the cesspool - 1.5 cubic meters is enough for 2-3 people, now about what size the toilet house should be. It all depends on your own desire and on the dimensions of the owners. In the standard version, toilets are made in the following sizes:

  • height - 220 cm;
  • width - 150 cm;
  • depth - 100 cm.

These dimensions are convenient for people with an average build. You can change them the way you like. There are no standards.

Houses for toilets are most often made of wood. But this is not the rule. It can be made of sheet material such as fiberboard, GVL, flat slate, brick and any other building materials, profiled sheet metal even made of plastic.

A toilet in the country with their own hands is built from any material. This one is made of corrugated board

The most favorite roofing material for a country toilet is slate. The device is inexpensive soft roof from deposited materials. In general, you can use any available. It is attached to a solid crate, so there is not much difference.

Building a village toilet

The last stage is the actual construction. The procedure is determined by what type of toilet you will build. If with a cesspool, they make it first.

Cesspool for toilet

The procedure for construction is as follows:

In order not to mess with masonry and waterproofing, you can install a special plastic container - a septic tank. They come in different sizes and designs - with one or two necks.

Septic tanks in the cesspool of the country toilet - and no problems with waterproofing

The pit is dug a little larger than the size of the selected septic tank, the container is installed, covered with previously excavated soil. The device of such a cesspool is many times faster and more reliable.

Cabin for country toilet

Any toilet for a summer residence is installed in a small cabin-house. With your own hands, the easiest way is to make a rectangular structure with a shed roof: a minimum of time, cost and materials.

Cabin base - posts

First of all, you need to take care of the presence of the floor. It needs to be raised some distance above the ground. It is more convenient to do this with the help of columns folded in the corners of the building. It is hardly worth burying them to the depth of freezing of the soil, but it is necessary to bury them in the soil 20-30 cm below the fertile layer. They are usually built from bricks, rubble stone, they can be poured from concrete, etc. On such a basis, during heaving, the cabin will rise, but usually this does not lead to any serious damage: the structure is small.

As it turned out, it’s not so difficult to build a toilet for a summer residence with your own hands. Little time and cost is required. But in the process you will gain useful skills.

Do-it-yourself drawings of wooden toilets for summer cottages will help summer residents to easily and quickly cope with the construction. The costs are relatively low, and such a structure can serve for more than a dozen years.

Pros and cons of toilets for summer cottages made of wood

Like any other building located in the open air, the wooden cabins of the country toilet are subject to the influence of the environment, that is, the effects of climate, moisture, temperature, pressure and time. Therefore, before you start building a toilet cubicle in your country house, you need to evaluate all the advantages and disadvantages of such a project.

Advantages

Wood construction has always been and will be in demand - it is traditional for Russia. For summer cottages and suburban housing construction, this material is the most popular, and for this reason:

  • all wood structures look very aesthetically pleasing;
  • wooden street buildings, including a toilet cubicle for a summer residence, can be painted in any color, which allows you to create a single composition with other objects of the site as a whole;
  • building a wooden toilet in the country is an inexpensive building that can be done with your own hands, even if you have no experience with this material;
  • for the construction of a toilet house, you can use recycled or rejected material, which will significantly save money;
  • modern impregnations and compositions for preserving wood will help increase the life of the toilet cubicle;
  • when dismantling an old wooden house in the country, the entire construction material can be reused.

Flaws

Wood is a natural organic raw material that is subject to rotting and decomposition. In addition, the porous structure of wood and wood materials is an attractive environment for small insects, bugs and rodents. These factors can be called the main disadvantages of wooden buildings, including outdoor toilet houses in the country.

Buildings made of wood are afraid of the following factors:

  • high humidity, dampness;
  • freezing and thawing and frequent temperature changes;
  • direct contact wooden material with water and soil;
  • lack of ventilation, stagnation of moist air and accumulation of condensate;
  • sudden temperature changes;
  • increased exposure to ultraviolet radiation;
  • strong pressure, mechanical impact.

Warning! All street wooden buildings and toilet houses in the country require mandatory treatment with special compounds and impregnations in order to protect the material from the harmful effects of the environment and the vital activity of bugs and rodents.

Types of wooden toilets for summer cottages

Wooden country toilets differ not only in the type of sewerage system, but also in the form of the ground structure. It should be noted that the owners of dachas with a natural inclination for beauty and elegance create whole masterpieces of architecture from this place. More passive summer residents manage with standard designs for manufacturing or purchase ready-made factory booths.

birdhouse

The wooden toilet "Birdhouse" is the classic and most simple design for giving. In its shape, it resembles an ordinary bird house, hence the name. As a rule, this is a shed rectangular structure with a door and a primitive window (ventilation).

The classic birdhouse cabin is made of wood, it has an elongated rectangle shape and a sloping roof under iron or slate. Inside the cabin, on a wooden podium, there is a toilet seat with a lid or a standard ceramic (plastic) toilet bowl.

Toilet cubicle "Skvorechnik" is suitable for:

  • sewerage with a cesspool (requires the construction of a pit);
  • backlash-closet (for sewerage with a channel for dumping waste under a slope);
  • dry closet (if there is no factory cabin in the configuration);
  • closet powder (with a storage tank for biological waste).

The construction of this type of toilet takes very few materials and can be easily built in the country with your own with my own hands. However, the most big minus design is that the cabin does not retain heat well and is strongly blown by the wind, which is why it can only be used in warm time of the year.

Hut

Of all the options for an outdoor toilet, the Hut is the most complex, but the most beautiful building in the country. Such an architectural structure will require from the master a thorough knowledge of construction and work with wood, as well as a considerable amount of materials.

In order to make a budget toilet and save money, this type of construction is definitely not suitable. The fact is that the installation of the "Hut" and the sheathing require a large amount of pruning of expensive wood. However, this form also has its great advantage - a diamond-shaped structure perfectly retains heat, and this is an important argument for using the premises in the country in the winter.

The cabin of the country toilet "Izba" is suitable for modification with a cesspool, backlash closet, powder closet and dry closet of various modifications.

country toilet in the form of a "Hut" is especially popular with summer residents, as it has a large number of finishes and "fits" in almost any landscape project site. In addition, if you approach the issue of decoration with great imagination, then this place cannot be called anything other than a fabulous tower.

small house

The wooden toilet cubicle "House" has a number of advantages compared to other types of buildings of this accessory. First, such a construction allows the most diverse design solutions in finishing. Secondly, the building perfectly keeps heat, which means that the toilet can be used in the country in any season. And, thirdly, "House" is very convenient for a person with any height and weight.

In its appearance and design, the "House" resembles an ordinary residential building, only much smaller and with a simplified system of side and roof beams. Such a cabin can be insulated from the outside or from the inside and used in the country at any time of the year.

The country toilet "Domik" is used with any type of sewerage - with a cesspool, a storage tank, a play closet, a powder closet, a dry closet.

hut

The hut-type toilet cubicle is a robust, tall structure with an attractive appearance. It resembles the shape of a plant hut and is harvested according to the same principle. A feature of the toilet cubicle is that the side walls and its roof form a single whole.

However, this design has a significant drawback. Inside the room, the vaults of the ceiling are located very close to each other and a person with high stature cannot avoid hitting his head. To exclude this, the "Hut" is made as wide as possible at the base with a high pediment.

However, this structure has its clear advantages. "Shalash" withstands any weather disasters - wind, rain or snow is not a problem for him. In addition, a toilet house of this design is much easier to build with your own hands than, for example, the Birdhouse cabin.

The superstructure of the outdoor toilet "Shalash" is suitable for installing a sewerage system with a cesspool, a storage tank, a backlash closet, a powder closet and a dry closet (chemical, electric, peat).

Drawings of wooden toilets for summer cottages

In order to make a wooden toilet in the country, at the very beginning you need to create a project drawing. It is necessary in order to calculate as accurately as possible the required amount of building material, clarify the dimensions of the toilet cubicle in place and determine the sewer flow pattern (if required).

The plan drawing of the Birdhouse street toilet is presented below.

Plan-drawing of the outdoor toilet "Izba":

Plan-drawing of the outdoor toilet "House":

Plan-drawing of the outdoor toilet "Shalash":

Dimensions of a wooden toilet for a summer residence

To determine the exact size of the toilet, you must first select the type of cubicle and the method of organizing the sewer.

For all types of construction of toilet cubicles, there are their own standards in size, which is explained by the specific features of their shape. For example, for the design of the toilet “House” and “Starling House”, taking into account the height of the toilet seat from the floor, this is 1.5 m (deepening) and approximately 1.2 m (width at the base). For the design of cabins "Hut" and "Shalash", taking into account the pedestal of the toilet seat, these standards are 1.5 m (deepening) and from 0.9 m (width of the base).

According to the construction rules in the toilet booth "Shalash", the distance from the head of the "guest" to the side walls of the room should be at least 40-45 cm (if the person is standing). This fact should be fundamental when designing the angle of the inclined walls and the width of the base of the structure. As an average option, the height of the point of the dome of the cabin "Shalash" is 2.0-2.2 m (above the pedestal - 1.90 m), and the height of the side of the toilet seat is 0.5 m from the floor level.

How to build a wooden toilet in the country with your own hands

The simplest, classic type of do-it-yourself wooden toilet for a summer cottage is the Birdhouse toilet cubicle. It is a low building with a sloping shed roof, a door and a ventilation window. Such a construction is simple in execution and quite economical. In addition, such a street closet, if necessary, can be easily transferred to a new location.

Technical characteristics of the traditional outdoor toilet "Skvorechnik":

  • front wall (height) - 2.3 m;
  • rear wall (height) - 2.0 m;
  • width of the front and rear walls - from 1.0 m;
  • booth base - 1.0 by 1.0 m (standard, but more can be);
  • the angle of the roof slope is 25-35 degrees.

For the construction of a wooden cabin "Birdhouse" you may need the following materials:

  • wooden beam;
  • edged board;
  • wooden lining;
  • Chipboard, OSB sheets or plywood;
  • board shield;
  • slate (classic or plastic);
  • ruberoid;
  • steel metal profile.

When building a toilet in the country with your own hands, you must follow these rules:

  1. When creating a drawing of a future cabin, it is necessary to take into account the dimensions of the interior in order to use the toilet comfortably and safely.
  2. The height of the toilet house should be at least 2.0 m.
  3. When building a birdhouse type cabin, the front of the roof is higher than the back. This is necessary so that the runoff of rain or melt water occurs behind the building.
  4. If electric lighting inside the toilet house is not planned, then you need to take care of natural light booths through a small window at the top of the building or in the door.
  5. To ventilate the toilet, an open window or exhaust pipe should be provided. it important point which should not be forgotten.
  6. In order for the toilet cubicle not to be too stuffy in summer, it is better to build it on the most shady area.
  7. When choosing a place for a toilet house in the country, you should avoid proximity to wells, wells, natural and artificial reservoirs.

The process of building an outdoor toilet "Birdhouse" with a cesspool:

  1. First you need to dig a hole with a volume of 2.0-2.5 m³. The pit should extend from the perimeter of the toilet cubicle (see the Birdhouse drawing above). The lower level of the pit is best done with a slight slope towards the cesspool. To seal biological waste, lay out the bottom and walls of the pit with brick, cinder block, concrete sarcophagus.

  2. From wooden beam(thickness not less than 10.0 cm) assemble the base for the toilet cubicle. For this purpose, you can use concrete blocks, curb or cinder blocks - this will increase the life of the toilet superstructure. Close the part of the pit intended for cesspooling with a wooden deck (shield). Its cover must be treated with bitumen and covered with roofing material to protect against moisture penetration into the pit.

  3. The second part of the pit is intended for the location of a wooden house above it. Assemble the frame of the Birdhouse booth according to the scheme.
  4. Then it can be sheathed edged board, clapboard, wooden shields or any other finishing material. Inside the booth, mount a toilet seat with a hole of the desired shape and size.

  5. Cover the roof of the toilet with any roofing material, install a door in the front, cut out a ventilation window. Install the finished wooden booth on the foundation with a pit and fix it on all sides. Close to the rear wall of the toilet house, in a wooden deck, cut a hole for a plastic ventilation pipe (diameter 10.0 cm). Insert it into this hole and secure it to the wall of the toilet with clamps. Deepen the lower end of the pipe by 20.0 cm into the pit, and the upper end must be at least 70.0 cm from the flooring level (put on a protective cap).

After the toilet structure is assembled, all wooden surfaces of the cabin must be impregnated, covered with stain, varnish or oil paint. Such processing will slow down the aging process of wood and give the building a beautiful aesthetic appearance. Observing a special technology, a country wooden toilet can be tiled from the inside.

By the same principle, in a summer cottage, you can build and install wooden toilet cubicles of a different design with your own hands.

Building a toilet in the country with your own hands is not the best difficult task, however, knowledge of certain norms is required here. Here are a few tips to help you avoid embarrassing mistakes before construction starts:

  1. Before starting construction, you should carefully select a place for the toilet, based on the "wind rose". This is done so that sewer odors do not bother the owners of the site.
  2. In order to avoid misunderstandings with neighbors in the country, it is necessary to strictly observe sanitary and technical standards regarding nearby buildings and structures.
  3. Before building a toilet in the country, you need to find out the height of the groundwater. If this point is above 2.5 m above the ground, then it is forbidden to make a toilet with a cesspool. In this case, a different type of outdoor toilet should be chosen.
  4. The toilet in the country should be located as far as possible from the beds and fruit crops. According to plumbing standards, the minimum distance is 4.0 m (for a cesspool with sealing and a septic tank), 2.0 m for a dry closet and powder closet.

For owners of summer cottages who doubt the possibility of building a wooden toilet on their own or simply do not want to do it, it is possible to purchase a ready-made cabin of any shape and size.

Photo of toilets for summer cottages made of wood

A photo selection of wooden toilet cubicles recommended for a garden or summer cottage.

This article presents samples of country toilets: drawings of booths, their average sizes, some recommendations for construction. The design can be different: there are rectangular, triangular, diamond-shaped projects. Choose the shape, then the material, and you can start building. There are drawings, the structure is not the most difficult. Just keep in mind that the sizes are given for people of average height and build. They can be easily changed without changing the design too much.

The design of a country toilet can be simple or intricate.

Scheme of a street toilet

The most common variant of a country or garden toilet is a rectangular building. It is also called the "birdhouse" because in the variant with a shed roof it is very reminiscent of it.

In the toilet drawing shown in the photo above, a 40 mm thick board was used for finishing. The construction is quite inexpensive. Doors can be made from the same boards, fastened with planks at the top, bottom and obliquely. Loops can be put external - barn, having issued the structure in a deliberately rough style.

Samples of country toilets: the drawings are the same, the execution is different

Despite the fact that the building is utilitarian, if desired, it can be given an attractive look and the birdhouse will turn into a quite attractive small building. For example, you can make a small mill out of this building.

Country toilet-mill - a little imagination and an unsightly building becomes a decoration of the site (to increase the size of the picture, click on it with the left mouse button)

The same birdhouse, but from a log house - a completely different look. Everything will look especially harmonious if the building on the site is built (or will be built) also from a log.

Even the simplest log toilet looks almost exotic. Moreover, it can be used as winter version(to increase the size of the picture, click on it with the left mouse button)

For regions where wood is a luxury, and it is irrational to spend it on building a toilet, the same structure can be sheathed with other material. For example, the frame is sheathed with any sheet material - plywood, fiberboard, GVL. They can be laid on the outside of the finishing material - tiles or decorative rock. Even more a budget option- sheathed with corrugated board.

This is the type of toilet that is easy to build with bricks. They are usually made in half a brick. There are no difficulties even for an inexperienced bricklayer. Offset masonry, cement-sand mortar.

According to the same project and drawing, you can build a brick toilet (to increase the size of the picture, click on it with the left mouse button)

Toilet type "Shalash" (triangular)

This toilet cubicle has the shape of a triangle. The side walls are also the slope of the roof. You can build such a toilet with your own hands in a few hours. Drawings with approximate dimensions are given in the picture below. It is possible and necessary to make adjustments to them: all dimensions are given for people of average build.

If you need wider doors, you can not push the base, which is already considerable in this project, but make doors of a non-standard shape - as in the figure on the right.

sheathing finishing materials in the toilets "Shalash" is carried out only in front and behind. On the side surfaces lay roofing material. You can use any, but it looks good soft tiles or polymer slate.

Having drawings, a triangular toilet in the country is easier to build

In the photo on the right, the crate is made under sheet roofing material - they used plastic slate - it is different colors, is relatively inexpensive, easy to mount - with nails and gaskets.

If you plan to use soft roofing material - roofing material, shingles or something similar, make the crate solid - from a sheet of moisture-resistant plywood, chipboard, GVL. They are attached to the frame with self-tapping screws, roofing materials are laid on top.

Drawing toilet "Teremok"

This toilet is shaped like a diamond. Compared to the "Shalash", it takes longer to build, but it also looks more decorative. With appropriate design, it will not spoil the landscape at all.

A diamond-shaped house for a toilet in a summer cottage looks good. Outside, the frame can be upholstered with a round timber of small diameter sawn in half, a lining of large thickness, a block house, an ordinary board. If you use a board, do not nail it end-to-end, but lay it a couple of centimeters on the bottom, like a fir cone. You can, of course, end-to-end, but the appearance will not be the same ...

The second option: the country toilet "Teremok" is made with beveled side walls.

The main catch in any small wooden toilet is to secure the doors well. The door frame is the most loaded part, especially on the side where the doors are attached. To fasten the door pillars to the frame beams, use studs - so the fastening will be reliable.

Photo illustrations: building a toilet in the country with his own hands. The drawings are shown above.

From this simple, in general, design, you can make a restroom in any style. For example, in Dutch. The finish is simple - light plastic, on top of which characteristic beams are stuffed, stained with stain. Pay attention to the glass inserts and the fact that the roof of this instance is made of polycarbonate. If the polycarbonate is multilayer, it should not be hot)))

Country street toilet in the form of a Dutch house

You can even turn the Teremok toilet into a royal carriage. This is not a joke… confirmation in the photo. All you need to do is change the shape and add a few decorative elements that are typical for carriages. So you get a toilet in the form of a carriage.

Here are some photos of the manufacturing process. The original has a dry closet, so the construction is simple: there is no need to think about the pit and the nuances associated with it ... but you can adapt such a booth to any type ...

Frame of characteristic shape

Please note that the shape is achieved thanks to the boards set at an angle, and the smoothly tapering bottom is due to the supports cut accordingly.

A dry closet is installed on the podium

The floor is sewn up with short boards, then the sheathing begins from the outside. At the top, the carriage also has a smooth bend - cut out the appropriate guides from short boards, nail them to the existing side posts, and you can start the outer wall cladding.

Inside is also sheathed with clapboard. Outside the toilet-carriage is whitewashed, inside the wood has a natural color. After that, decoration and the addition of characteristic details remain - monograms painted with gold, lanterns, “golden” chains, wheels.

Painting and decorating

"Royal" curtains and flowers))) There is even a washstand and a small sink.

View from inside the windows

After all the efforts, we have the most unusual toilet in the area. Few can boast of such...

Also suitcases in the trunk))

Warm restroom

Using a toilet with a wall in one plank in the summer is quite comfortable. But not all dachas are visited only in the warm season. For the autumn-spring period, at least some kind of insulation is needed, which will block the drafts.

In this case, the design of the toilet is no different. Only increase the dimensions by 5-10 cm more: the sheathing will be double - outside and inside, and insulation is laid between the sheathing. The doors will also need to be insulated - double doors are too heavy for such a building, but from the inside they can be upholstered with a piece of linoleum, dermantin and other well-washable material.

Combined shower-toilet

The second necessary building in the country is a shower. And if so, then why build two separate structures, if they can be built under one roof. Several drawings of country toilets with a shower for self-construction are published below.

As you guessed, the structure is simply doubled in width. If you want, you can create your own project, according to your desires and needs. The drawing of the hozblok with a toilet will be exactly the same. You may need to make one of the rooms a little larger. Just provide for this when planning and manufacturing supports for construction.

Do-it-yourself country toilet: photos, drawings and device tips

Everyone knows that comfortable rest in the country is possible only if there is a well-equipped sanitary facility. It is for this reason that the arrangement of a site in a country house most often begins with the construction of an outhouse, for which it is extremely important to choose the right location and materials. In this article, we will look at how to build a country toilet with your own hands. Photos, drawings and detailed instructions attached.

A well-equipped closet is the key to a comfortable pastime outside the city

Choosing the optimal location

The right place is the key to the successful construction of a sanitary facility, its durability and strength.

Location plays a big role

A responsible approach to business will save you from problems with the construction in the future

Before starting construction, pay attention to the following points:

  • On the drawing of your site, mark the places located at least 8 meters from the well with water, 7 from the house and 1 from the fence. This will be best options for construction.

  • The next point to pay attention to is the height of the site. An excellent option for building is a lowland.
  • The soil on which the toilet will be built should not be very wet.
  • Wind direction is one of the most important indicators to consider. We must try to ensure that the prevailing direction is not directed towards residential premises.
  • Another important point: the shadow, which in the case of a country toilet should not be permanent, just as the location of the structure in the sun is unacceptable. The best way out of this situation is to build a toilet under a tree that casts a shadow only at certain times of the day.
  • If the construction is planned for a long time, it is necessary to provide a convenient entrance for the sewer truck in order to clean the cesspool in time.

Important information! In no case do not build a toilet on the site of an old destroyed closet or garbage pit - this can be dangerous in further operation!

Do-it-yourself country toilet: photos, drawings of various types

There is a whole host of different types country toilet facilities. As a rule, they do not require water supply or sewerage, and some of the options presented can be bought at all in a regular hardware store. So, now we will analyze the options for building a country toilet with our own hands with photos and drawings.

Country toilets have many different types of designs.

Standard sanitary room

Similar design looks like the most ordinary cabin with a seat or just a hole in the floor, often made of boards or other available material, which is additionally reinforced in the walls and foundation. A sewer machine is used to remove waste.

Powder toilet

This building differs from the rest in the absence of a cesspool, as it uses the "dusting" technology. After each visit to the latrine, the waste is sprinkled with a mixture of peat or ordinary ash, and the resulting substance is great for fertilizing the soil.

Powder toilet provides an opportunity to receive high-quality fertilizer for your garden

Chemical sanitary room

Such a toilet differs from the previous one in that only chemical substances, which means that it will not work to get fertilizer for your site in this way.

The chemical toilet does not provide for the possibility of further use of waste products as fertilizer

backlash toilet

The construction of such a building consists in the partial deepening of a cesspool under a residential building, due to which the toilet is built right next to the wall. The toilet hole is connected to it with the help of sewer pipe small size. Waste is pumped out through the installation of a sealed hatch.

Backlash toilet provides a cesspool under the house

This design is manufactured at the factory, comes to customers ready-made and serves as an excellent alternative to a do-it-yourself country toilet. Photos, drawings and other materials are presented below. The dry closet is a cabin in which a waste tank is installed. After each trip to the closet, waste products are neutralized with the help of special bioreagent substances.

The dry closet is convenient because you do not need to build a toilet yourself and look for materials

Closet peat type

Due to its unique design, such a toilet combines the features of dry closets and "powder" technologies. Thus, all waste processed in this building and accumulated in a separate container can be used as natural fertilizer.

If you nevertheless decide to build a toilet in the country with your own hands, the drawings and dimensions of which are presented below, it is important to take into account all the nuances and little things.

The beautiful design of the booth is pleasing to the eye

The construction sequence is as follows:

  • According to the above rules for finding the optimal place for the construction of a closet, select the most appropriate option.
  • The marking of the future building is being carried out, a hole is dug with a depth of two meters, a width of one and a half meters.
  • If the soil is loose or wet, the bottom of the pit is sprinkled with crushed stone or gravel, laid out with brickwork.
  • The foundation is being installed - tape or columnar, depending on your requirements and requests.
  • A frame is being erected from wood or any other materials, which is subsequently sheathed with corrugated board, boards and other coatings. The roof is covered.
  • If necessary, the room is insulated from the inside.

Useful information! The liquid part of the waste should be well absorbed into the soil.

Do-it-yourself country toilet

If you decide to build a country toilet with your own hands, the photos, drawings, videos and dimensions presented in this article will help you cope with this task.

Projects, drawings and diagrams of a country toilet

Do not deny yourself comfort even in the country. There are a huge number of projects for country toilets that every person can bring to life. But first you need to decide on the drawing and, according to it, build the future structure.

A huge amount of materials and all kinds of projects for country toilets leads to the fact that people are simply lost in the background of all this diversity. That is why the theoretical part is so important. Based on the data in this article, you will be able to choose the best project for your dacha.

Typical projects of country toilets

Basically, to create a country toilet project, the following types of structures are used:

Each of these designs has its own advantages. That is why it is so important to determine the type before starting construction.

Country toilet with a cesspool

In the project, it is imperative to provide for a pit. You also need to take care of its arrangement. For this it can be used plastic barrel or brickwork reinforced with reinforcement.

In the project, you must provide the right amount of brick and cement, and do not forget about the fittings. The walls you created are subsequently covered with plaster. It is the pit that sets the character of the ground building. This is usually small wooden house, created from improvised materials. It can be in the form of a hut, a miniature house and even a tower.

According to this country toilet project, all waste will accumulate in the pit. For its further cleaning you will need a sewer. The main disadvantage of the project is an unpleasant smell. That is why it is very important to provide ventilation at the planning stage.

Ventilation can be either natural or forced. In the first case, two holes are made in the design from below and from above. Their purpose is extremely simple - to create air disturbances. Thus, the unpleasant smell will not linger inside for a long time.

Forced ventilation is a simple fan that blows everything out. unpleasant odors from the toilet. When installing it, you need to think about a compensation hole through which air will penetrate inside. Its diameter should not be less than the diameter of the fan. All this is written in the project.

Powder closet

When creating this project country house cesspool is not provided. All waste is collected in a tank under the toilet seat. It is best to include two containers of different sizes in the design. In the smaller one, you need to make several different-sized holes and insert it into a large container, on the side of which there will be a round exit. A drain hose is connected to it.

Through the hose, the liquid goes into the ground or drainage system. main role in this project of a country toilet, a receptacle for a filler plays. Peat is most often used as a mixture. The filler helps to contain unpleasant smells. As soon as the tank is full, it should be taken out to the compost heap.

When you make a drawing, it is important to take into account the convenience of extracting the container. There are two possible solutions to this problem. In the first of these, the tank is removed when the seat is raised. In the second, a small door is cut out at the back of the building. It allows you to easily remove the filled container.

You don't even need to build anything here. In fact, you are buying finished project country toilet. All you need is to install the product in a convenient place. In this case, you can purchase both a finished design and a whole booth.

Shower and toilet under one roof

Now projects of a country toilet combined with a shower are very popular. This is especially beneficial from a financial point of view. In addition, such a project allows you to significantly save free space on the site.

In the project, a toilet with a shower will have one common wall. The result is savings in building materials. At the same time, the bathroom can work both on the basis of a tank with a mixture, and on the basis of a cesspool.

How a drawing is created

The main task of the drawing when creating a project for a country toilet is to detail the design. The size, shape and type of building are clearly indicated on the paper. At the same time, there are a number of standards that must be observed.

Firstly, the distance of the country toilet for the place of water supply cannot be less than 30 meters. This must be specified in the project. Secondly, a residential or commercial building should not be closer than 15 meters. Of course, there are exceptions in the form of the same septic tank with a biological treatment system.

Dimensions are of particular importance in the drawing. You are free to ask them yourself. But there are certain standards that allow you to create a beautiful and comfortable building with a high guarantee.

The height of the future dacha building should not exceed two and a half meters. In this case, the minimum indicator is at the level of 2 meters. The length of the building is from 1.2 to 1.8 m. The width is in the range from 1 to 1.2 m.

Many novice builders do not attach sufficient importance to the parameters of the cesspool. It is unacceptable. After all, it must also be included in the drawings. The estimated depth is 1.5-2 m, the diameter is from 2 to 2.5 m. If the groundwater is close to the surface, then the pit will have to be abandoned.

Projects of superstructures for a country toilet

When choosing a suitable project for a country toilet, the selection of material is of particular importance. It is he who sets the parameters of the future building to the greatest extent. There are several typical options, which will be discussed further.

Brick toilet

The advantages of this material can be listed indefinitely. He is resistant to atmospheric influences, equally well retains heat and coolness, is environmentally friendly. Moreover, it allows you to give the structure any shape.

The basis of this project is the foundation. Without it, the creation of a country toilet made of bricks is simply impossible. Separately, it is necessary to mention the quality of the masonry. This is the real art of laying bricks for centuries. From above, the structure is covered with a roof, a material for which, in most cases, slate serves.

In the picture you see an example of a related project. In one design, a toilet and a shower are combined. This is not only practical, but also allows you to save a lot on the cost of building materials.

wooden toilet

The project of a wooden country toilet is a classic. Its construction takes a minimum of time, but in order for the structure to serve you faithfully, it is necessary to strictly follow the plan in the process of work.

The picture shows one of the most popular options among summer residents - a teremok. As you can see, he has a small inner space and small dimensions. This allows you to install it anywhere. It is also worth noting the aesthetic appearance.

metal toilet

This version of the project will appeal to those who want to save time and money. When building, you can use sheets of metal left over from building a house. The only thing you need to take care of is the inner lining. Of course, you can do without it, but in winter it will be very problematic to be in such a structure.

The main advantage of the project is the absence of the need for any knowledge. Almost anyone can build such a country toilet. This is the most cost effective option imaginable. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the toilet seat. It is best made of wood so that it is comfortable to sit on.

Types of wooden cabins

It is wooden cabins that are most popular among summer residents. This is explained quite simply. The timber is inexpensive, but provides good thermal insulation and has a pleasant appearance. During construction, the following projects are most often used:

  • House - this design is traditionally warmer and stronger than a birdhouse. To create such a project for a country toilet, a minimum of materials is required. The unique shape allows you to make an artistic finish.

  • The hut is the most difficult project of a country toilet. It requires a lot of materials and labor, but at the same time it has incredible strength and can withstand any climatic hardships. Separately, it should be noted ease of use.

  • As you can see, there are many different projects for country toilets. During construction, you yourself choose the material, type of construction and internal arrangement. Any of the above options has its own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, it is very important to weigh all the pros and cons of each project and make a choice in favor of the optimal one.

    Country toilet: projects, schemes, photo drawings

    Projects, drawings and diagrams of a country toilet You should not deny yourself comfort even in the country. There are a huge number of projects for country toilets that everyone can bring to life.

    Do-it-yourself toilet in the country - drawings and dimensions

    For those who decide to build a toilet in the country with their own hands - drawings, dimensions, sketches are the necessary help, which does not allow them to deviate from the chosen technology or build a structure that is not very suitable for operation. Before embarking on more precise developments, it is important to choose the type of construction of the country toilet, its location and other parameters. These, in turn, depend on the operating conditions, which indicates the need for a detailed analysis from a perspective. For example, if there is a possibility that after some time the number of people visiting the dacha will increase, or you plan to equip the house in such a way that you can live in it longer, create a toilet in advance with the expectation of increasing the load so that you do not have to redo it later .

    Types of toilets

    The easiest way to build a toilet for a summer house with your own hands is wooden - drawings of such structures are not difficult to find, and in some cases it is enough step by step instructions without illustrations. However, a beautiful and reliable house is not enough to provide comfort. It is important to take care of waste disposal. From this point of view, there are several options for a country toilet.

    play closet

    The play closet is designed in such a way that the waste from the toilet moves by gravity, collecting in the receiver, which is cleaned as it is filled. Usually, the movement of waste is facilitated by the sloping floor of the tank, which has a shape expanding in the direction from the toilet. The advantage of this design is the possibility without the construction of a full-fledged sewer system install the toilet in a warm room in the house, and take the tank out of it to avoid odor. The part of the backlash closet, located outside, is equipped with a lid through which cleaning is carried out by a cesspool machine. To ensure thermal insulation, it is made hermetic and multi-layered (for example, from metal and wood with a “layer” of heat-insulating material). The disadvantage of the backlash closet is that it is built into bearing wall, which means that its arrangement is best done at the stage of building a house.

    In the photo, the scheme of the play-toilet

    Powder closet

    The powder-closet has an accumulator in which the waste alternates with layers of backfill (“powdered”). Sawdust, peat, ash or a mixture of these components is used as such backfill. Backfilling is done after each visit to the toilet. For purchased models, a special distributor is responsible for the distribution of the bulk mixture. In homemade ones, they use an ordinary bucket or other container with a scoop, which is installed in the toilet.

    The advantage of powder-closet are:

    • the ability to use the contents of the drive of the country toilet to obtain organic safe fertilizer (for this, when filling the tank, it is unloaded into compost pit for ripening)
    • resolving the issue of disposal (there is no need to call a sewage truck),
    • a minimum of earthworks (they will be required only for the construction of the foundation of the building, the tank is placed on the surface),
    • the possibility of arranging compact portable models of toilets that can be brought into the house (for example, based on a conventional bucket).

    Drawing of a wooden powder closet with dimensions of the "hut" type
    Drawing of a country toilet of the type of powder closet made of corrugated board of the "birdhouse" type

    Dry closets are buildings in which waste is recycled. In the process of decomposition, the contents of the tanks turn into a uniform sludge, which is safe, takes up less space (and therefore requires less tank emptying) and is easy to pump out. In order to ensure the decomposition reaction, fillers are used in factory dry closets, which can be:

    • peat mix,
    • chemically active reagents,
    • biological products (dry or in the form of liquids), which are colonies of bacteria of a certain type.

    The dry closet can be used both in a separate outdoor house and in the house

    Pit latrines

    A country toilet with a cesspool is a kind of classic. Not the most convenient, but the easiest and cheapest option. All waste is collected in a storage tank, which is periodically cleaned using vacuum trucks. In some cases, the filled cesspool is covered with earth, transferring the house to another place. In such a filled hole, compost is formed after a while, which can be used to fertilize the soil. The most common (although the least environmentally friendly) is the toilet option, in which the cesspool has no bottom. It is only sometimes covered with crushed stone, gravel or other material through which filtration is carried out with partial drainage of the contents into the soil.

    Important: At a high level of groundwater, it is advisable to replace such models of pits with sealed storage tanks.

    The drawing shows the dimensions of a country toilet with a cesspool

    Cesspool options

    Regardless of the presence of a sealed bottom, the cesspool of the toilet needs to build walls. Firstly, they prevent the collapse of the earth in a dug pit. Secondly, the walls prevent waste from seeping into the upper layers of the soil. For the construction of cesspools, a variety of specially purchased materials are used, left over from the construction of other structures, or simply available materials. Consider the most common options.

    concrete rings

    Concrete rings combine the strength, reliability and durability of the best building materials with the speed with which they can build a reservoir of the required volume. The rings are fixed on top of each other in a "column" with mortar, sealing the seams and performing waterproofing. All work can be completed in one day. The disadvantage of this option is big weight finished concrete products. It is impossible to bring them to the site, unload and properly install them without the use of special lifting equipment, which means that additional costs will be required for the construction of the toilet.

    Monolithic concrete

    For the construction of a cesspool from monolithic concrete, the material can be easily delivered to the site. The solution is prepared in a household concrete mixer or in any container using a mixer drill. Before proceeding with the preparation of the solution, formwork is installed in the pit. It can be made from any available materials(boards, plywood, metal sheets, etc.). To give the structure greater strength, a reinforcing frame is installed in the formwork before pouring the mortar. With a high wall height, experts recommend filling in stages - no more than 50-70 cm at a time. This method requires more time, since each new level is performed only after the lower one has hardened, but it is more practical and allows you to get by with less material for formwork.

    plastic containers

    The undoubted advantages of plastic containers are their tightness and resistance to moisture. Thanks to these features, the cesspools of the country toilet, built of plastic, are durable and reliable. The disadvantage of the material is its flexibility. The plasticity and pliability of plastic do not allow it to withstand the pressure of the soil, therefore, in order to avoid deformation, the walls are reinforced with reinforcement and cement mortar. In this regard, Eurocubes are most convenient, which are initially equipped with an outer frame made of durable wire. To strengthen such structures, it remains to fill the gap between the walls of the pit and the plastic container mortar. In addition to eurocubes, other containers made of this material, for example, barrels, can also be used for cesspools.

    The use of plastic eurocubes is an inexpensive option for building an airtight toilet pit

    Brickwork takes time, but such a construction of a cesspool allows you to give it any shape and meet the required dimensions. From a brick, you can lay out a tank of a round, rectangular or square shape. It is advisable to choose such a building material when there are remains of bricks after the construction of other objects. To ensure the strength of the walls, it is enough to lay a half-brick laying. In order for the toilet pit to have the required tightness, it is important not to allow gaps during the masonry stage and to plaster or waterproof the walls after construction is completed.

    More information about the factory peat toilet for a summer residence and its choice can be found in a separate article on the site. There is also an overview of popular models and reviews.

    If you are wondering how you can make a shower for a polycarbonate cottage with or without a dressing room, then we also have an article on this topic.

    And about the construction of a street washbasin, you can read here.

    Choosing a place for construction

    It is difficult to formulate uniform requirements for choosing a site for building a toilet - a lot depends on the type of construction and the tightness of the storage tank (the likelihood of waste getting into the soil). When designing a toilet in the country with your own hands, drawings and dimensions are chosen taking into account a number of factors. When choosing the installation site, it is important to take into account the wind rose so that the toilet does not become a source of discomfort for the inhabitants of the cottage and their neighbors. If the design of the toilet involves the periodic pumping of the contents using a sewage machine, it is necessary to provide convenient accessibility special equipment to the object.

    The most stringent requirements apply to leaky models (first of all, to cesspools without a bottom). They must be installed approximately at an average height if the site has a difficult terrain (in the lowlands there is a high risk of groundwater pollution, and at a height - the destruction of the structure when the soil is washed away). It is also important observe the required distance of the toilet from the main facilities(at least 12 meters from the house, 25 meters from the water source, 4 meters from the landings and no closer than 1 meter from the fence).

    Materials and tools

    The choice of materials for the construction of a toilet in a summer cottage is largely determined by the choice of the type of utilizer. For example, when installing a cesspool, you will need brick, cement, concrete rings, or plastic tanks, depending on what you choose. For the construction of the frame of the house you will need:

    • beam with a section of 100x100 or 100x50 mm, 3 m long for the frame and uprights house,
    • timber 50x50 mm for the "podium" or the step on which the seat will be installed inside,
    • Chipboard, boards, lining or other material for interior and exterior cladding,
    • Ruberoid and slate or corrugated roofing.

    In the photo, a finished wooden toilet on the site

    We should also not forget that for a stationary structure it is necessary foundation- tape (requires cement for mortar) or columnar (cement or brick), as well as waterproofing (roofing material or other similar material), preventing contact between the structure and the frame in order to minimize the occurrence of decay.

    For ventilation a plastic pipe with a diameter of 100 mm is required.

    For ease of use, it is also good to install in a country toilet lighting– connect electrical wiring and mount a luminaire or, at a minimum, equip the structure with a rechargeable torch.

    Scheme and dimensions of country toilets

    The scheme for building a country toilet is the same, in contrast to the parameters of the tanks, which are calculated in accordance with the intensity of use of the device, the number of people visiting the country house, the seasonality and duration of such visits.

    A classic option is a rectangular-shaped "birdhouse" house. It is lightweight and easy to use. For comfort, it is enough to do the following dimensions of the toilet in the country with your own hands:

    If such dimensions seem insufficient to the owner, you can build a toilet in the country with your own hands, the dimensions of which will be larger.

    Supporters of aesthetics may prefer to build a country toilet with their own hands, using drawings of a more complex design - a "hut" house, which has a small base and practically consists of two inclined planes.

    Types of houses for country toilets - "hut" and "birdhouse"

    Building step by step

    For a step by step example construction works we chose the "birdhouse". Such a toilet scheme for giving is the simplest to implement.

    Before starting work, the position of the future structure on the ground is marked.

    1. The foundation is being carried out. Often, tape structures are recommended for installing a house, but many experts call it more practical for light buildings. columnar foundation. The easiest way to arrange it is to install asbestos pipes into the ground, into which the solution is poured and vertical wooden supports are installed before it hardens. It is important to control the position of the latter in terms of level, to ensure that no displacement occurs during the curing of concrete.

    The foundation device according to this scheme has its own nuances:

    • Asbestos pipes are covered with a waterproofing layer before installation.
    • The installation of vertical supports is carried out after pouring the pipes with concrete to a third of the height and gaining strength with this portion of the solution.
    • The immersion depth of the support pipes depends on the type of soil and averages 0.5-0.7 m, but for unstable sandy soils, it is advisable to increase the depth.

    2. A frame for the future design of the toilet is being constructed. The easiest way for this purpose is to use a bar 100x100 (50) mm and hardware for wood. To protect against moisture and decay, the timber can be impregnated or primed and painted. The solidity of the structure will provide metal carcass, however, its construction will require special equipment (welding machine).

    The main elements of a reliable frame:

    • load-bearing vertical supports (the front pair is longer than the rear pair to ensure the slope of the roof),
    • two horizontal strapping frames - for installing the roof and at the level of the toilet seat,
    • diagonal bars on the sides of the structure to stiffen the structure,
    • supports and the horizontal part of the doorway.

    3. The toilet frame is sheathed from the outside and inside. As a material, you can choose:

    4. The waterproofing layer and the main roof material are installed.

    5. A door is hung, which is pre-equipped with a latch and a small window for light to enter the room (or a window can be made in the space above the door).

    6. Lighting is mounted.

    7. The equipment of the toilet includes the installation of a seat and cover, shelves for accessories, a washbasin, etc.

    Ventilation

    The scheme for building a toilet in the country with your own hands will be incomplete without ventilation. Ventilation of toilets for summer cottages is easily carried out from a plastic pipe with a diameter of 100 mm. It is removed from the drive (it is important to ensure the tightness of the joints) and fastened with outside structures (use metal clamps). The upper part of the pipe, equipped with a deflector to improve exhaust and protect against precipitation, rises 20-50 cm above the roof.

    Do-it-yourself toilet in the country: drawings, dimensions, how to build a wooden one, diagram, photo

    Drawings and dimensions for the construction of a toilet in the country with their own hands. The choice of the design of the utilizer. Required materials. Required tools. Sequence of work.

    We all love comfort in everyday life, but we rarely get it just like that, without any effort. Someone pays “specialists” for repairs in their home, often getting a carelessly done job, while someone prefers to do everything with their own hands, which, without a proper approach, can also lead to problems.

    At the same time, any path involves significant financial costs, and therefore the initially correctly chosen approach not only saves your nerves in the future, but also saves the family budget.

    And if on this moment, most apartments are already equipped with all the necessary amenities, then things are often somewhat worse at summer cottages, often people who come from the city to their dacha experience a number of inconveniences, and one of the most noticeable is the lack of a toilet.

    In this article, I would like to tell you how, using relatively cheap materials, you can make a toilet in the country with your own hands. He will delve into the intricacies of this process, explain all the nuances and difficulties, because a do-it-yourself toilet in the country, the photo of which you will see in the article, is not at all a luxury, but a necessity.

    So, how to build a toilet in the country with your own hands?

    First of all, you need to know about this process that the construction of such a structure in our time is more expensive than before, unfortunately, it is not even connected with the trend of fashion, but with new sanitary requirements, which strongly indicate the need to preserve an environmentally friendly environment.

    At the same time, the issue of disposal of accumulated waste products is acute, because the need to regularly clean them from a simple toilet in the country can turn the life of any person into a nightmare. Help solve this problem modern technologies, which have now become much cheaper and more affordable, which allows most people to use them on their sites.

    Finally, here again, the desire to create the most comfortable conditions for existence intervenes, few people are now satisfied with a small rickety booth with a hole in the floor, which is quite understandable, because such structures do not improve at all country rest, and besides, spoil the view of the site as a whole.

    In this regard, it becomes clear that the ideal toilet for a summer residence should be safe for the environment, convenient in terms of waste disposal, comfortable to use and fit beautifully in a summer cottage.

    After defining the main task, it is necessary to solve a number of other important issues:

    1. Based on local conditions, determine how wastewater will be discharged, where it will be discharged, how it will be disposed of.

    2. Find a suitable place in your summer cottage to install a toilet.

    3. Make a choice of the preferred design solution - it can be a booth or a cabin.

    4. Find decoration, which would be optimally correlated in terms of the complexity of construction and appearance.

    5. Determine the necessary for all expenses.

    All these issues are largely interconnected, so they need to be addressed in a comprehensive manner, thinking about how to make a toilet in the country with your own hands. At the same time, when building a booth, you can afford more freedom, since only the appearance and convenience depend on it, and the base is the most complex and expensive element here.

    What to build a toilet in the country?

    In most cases, it is best to build a wooden toilet for a summer residence, this is due to the cheapness of this material, in addition, wood is very easy to process, it has good heat-resistant characteristics and, with a competent approach, does not cause any harm to a person. With proper processing, it can be weather-resistant and unsuitable for any bacteria or insects to grow on it.

    In addition, lightweight wooden structure allows you to save on the foundation, which in some cases may not be useful at all, because the size of the toilet in the country with your own hands can be small, in which case its cabin can simply be placed on reinforced concrete monoliths or bricks.

    To build a simple toilet in the country with your own hands, you need to decide on the types of materials.

    For the construction of the frame, they often use an ordinary beam, it is convenient to cover the floor and the toilet seat with a tongue-and-groove board, for outer skin cut or tongue-and-groove boards are suitable, and cut and uncut boards work well for roof battens.

    In the construction of sheathing, boards made of waterproof plywood or OSB can be effective, which can also be used in creating laths for purlins. Good material a tongue-and-groove board can become, which, at a slightly higher price, surpasses most other materials in its properties.

    For curved sections, it is optimal to use a marine boat board, which, in addition to everything else, will last much longer in an area where precipitation is frequent, however, compared to a sheet pile board, it holds back gusts of wind worse.

    Without exception, all wooden elements must be treated first against rot, then from dampness. It is this sequence that is the most correct, in which the boards will serve the longest time.

    Those parts of the toilet that will be turned inward (towards the cesspool and the ground) must also be processed bituminous mastic or hot bitumen.

    What kind of toilet to build in the country?

    Even if you decide to build a simple toilet in the country with your own hands, you should not forget about the importance of it. appearance. There are a number of types of cabins, in the form of a house, a hut, a hut, a birdhouse. In the end, you can always experiment with shapes, do something completely unusual, however, in my article I will focus on the basic options without going into the field of complex design.

    So, what is the difference between the listed types of cabins:

    1. When building a hut, you need to understand that it is strong, constructive, has good resistance to precipitation and wind, does not require large expenditures of materials, however, it requires a lot of space and suffers from a number of inconveniences, primarily from crowding. If you try to make it larger, then the benefit of saving materials disappears. The design itself is primitive, and may not be suitable for some suburban areas.

    2. In terms of construction complexity, a birdhouse is even simpler than a hut, it does not require large expenditures of materials and takes up minimal space. However, it has a weak design, does not hold temperatures well, and is prone to drafts. Despite the shortcomings, such a design may be optimal if an outdoor toilet is intended for summer cottages.

    3. In the construction of a house, you can achieve greater heat resistance and strength than a birdhouse. It also requires a little land and materials, but it is more difficult to install a water tank to it. This design allows you to use a variety of finishes and design elements.

    4. The complexity of the construction of the hut is superior to other types of cabins, in addition, it requires more material consumption. At the same time, its faceted shape allows you to create very durable structures that are well protected from adverse climatic conditions. In terms of functionality and ergonomics, this is one of the the best options. And the design possibilities are almost endless.

    When the view is finally chosen, it is necessary to determine the size of the toilet in the country.

    For a birdhouse with a house, the ideal dimensions of the floor and toilet seat are at least 1.2 meters in width and 1.5 meters in depth. In the case of a hut and a hut, the depth can be left at the level of 1.5 meters, and the width can be taken in the region of 0.9 meters.

    It is important that there is at least 40 centimeters of distance from the head of the person who entered to the walls. At the same time, several meters can be called the optimal ceiling height. In general, when the question arises of how to build a toilet in the country, it is important to remember that many of its parameters will depend on your preferences. In this regard, the size of the toilet can be adjusted depending on your own height, etc.

    Almost all of the types of cabins listed above suffer from a common disadvantage, namely, exposure to gusts of wind if the toilet door is not closed. To combat this, you just need to install the door on the barn hinges. For more durable structures such as a hut, you can use hidden loops.

    Where to put the toilet in the country?

    You can’t think about how to make a simple toilet in the country without taking into account such important aspects as its location, especially if it involves the presence of a cesspool, the construction of which is prohibited if the groundwater is located above 2.5 meters.

    The choice of a construction site should be based on a number of factors, such as the type of soil, the proposed foundation, the distance from the house, etc. All these elements are closely interconnected and require a serious approach, because not only convenience, but also safety for you and the environment depends on this.

    There are strict sanitary norms, which prohibit the location of structures of this kind at a distance closer than 12 meters from the nearest housing, and the distance from a water source must be at least 20 meters. In addition, it is important to remember about the neighbors, who are unlikely to approve the construction of a toilet right under their fence.

    In order to build a toilet for the dacha yourself, you must first decide how far you are willing to walk, in some cases, the distance of the toilet from the house only has a positive effect on the atmosphere of the summer cottage, and the proximity of the house to the cesspool can be quite unpleasant, for example, due to possible odours. At the same time, the location of the toilet should be accessible to the entrance of the sewage truck, because the maximum length of its hose is about 7 meters.

    It is good if it is possible to install a toilet in an inconspicuous and secluded place, for example, in a garden, where trees cover it from the general view. It is also important to remember that locating the toilet in a low-lying area can cause the pit latrine to fill up more quickly, since most of the rainfall will fall directly into it. And the location of such a structure at a height can make it prone to strong gusts of wind.

    Once the site was definitely needed to decide what type of cesspool is suitable for it.

    Varieties of cesspools for a toilet in the country

    In order to gradually build a toilet in the country, it is important to choose the right type of cesspool. They differ mainly in the degree of penetration of waste products into the soil, and are divided into sealed pits, as well as pits with a filter bottom.

    Sealed pits require more money, due to the more frequent need to clean them. Pits with a filter bottom are cheaper, but they are fraught with environmental pollution, in addition, their use is not allowed in terms of sanitary standards.

    Exist different types walls for cesspools, they can be monolithic, brick, plastic, and also consist of concrete rings. Each option has its own advantages and disadvantages.

    Brick pit latrines aren't cheap, but they're strong enough, they can be built quite deep to reduce the need for frequent cleaning, and they seal reasonably well. It is possible to create both a hermetic version and a design with a filtering bottom.

    Plastic containers are quite inexpensive, however, due to their size, they will require more frequent cleaning, when creating a sealed structure, only the upper part is cut off from the container, when creating a filter, they also cut lower part, while the bottom is covered with a filter layer.

    Structures made of concrete rings cannot be airtight, because they move easily in the ground, their use is permissible only in those places where groundwater is located at a considerable depth. After filling the pit with rings, its bottom is either closed concrete screed or filter layer.

    Monolithic concrete pit latrines are well sealed, but due to the nature of the construction, they can be difficult and expensive to make too deep and require frequent cleaning.

    Speaking about cesspools, one would think that the construction of such structures is extremely difficult, below you will see how you can build a toilet in the country, photos, instructions, a description of the process.

    Do-it-yourself toilet in the country in stages with a photo

    Approaching the question of how to thoroughly make a toilet in the country house yourself, let's take a relatively simple and comfortable design, accompanying its construction with photographs, because in order to build a toilet in the country house with your own hands, drawings are not necessary, it is quite easy to do without them.

    The foundation will be concrete pillars, for them we make holes of 130 millimeters by 0.8 meters. We insert pipes inside to the maximum possible depth (for example, old water pipes). After that, we fill everything with a solution using roofing material and sleeves.

    The strapping will be a 100 by 100 beam, which we will fasten to the corners.

    We cover the floor and the toilet seat with grooved boards. The design for the toilet seat itself is standard, nothing special, you can make it removable.

    Racks are made of timber 50 to 50.

    We make the roof from planed boards 25 by 120, add flat galvanized sheets to them, bending them along the edges at the back and front, from the sides we close the boards with a galvanized profile.

    For walls and a toilet seat, we take 9 millimeters of OSB, with inside we varnish them, to reduce the risk of splinters, the toilet seat is also varnished.

    The outer crate is made of a bar 25 by 50, almost any will do, we put siding on top of it.

    In the lower part along the perimeter of the structure, you can put some trimmings from corrugated board, this will help create the desired visual effect.

    The threshold can be finished with galvanization.

    Polycarbonate can be used for the window at the entrance; small gaps can be allowed to create ventilation.

    The door is made from an OSB sheet, boards 25 by 120 are applied from below and above, a board is also placed on the outside, space is left for siding, you can fasten the boards with the OSB sheet with simple self-tapping screws. Also, siding is attached to the structure with small screws.

    I hope that the description of how to make a toilet in the country with your own hands, step by step photo of this process will inspire someone to new feats in improving the comfort of life, because it is on such little things that the full enjoyment of summer vacation depends.

    Now you know how to make a toilet in the country, what difficulties it can have and what you need to consider.
