ZILLERTAL 3000(1600-2590 m.) This project has only recently united the Penken, Gorberg-Gerent, Rastkogel, Eggalm mountain ranges into an associated ski region (140 km of slopes). A high-speed gondola lift (for 15 people each) (only one intermediate support!) takes 4 minutes from the center of Mayrhofen to a height of 1800 m - the lower ski line of Mount Penken. Lifts also lead to the mountain from the villages of Finkenberg and Schwendau, neighboring Mayerhofen (2 km from Hippach - Ramsau). Penken peak itself (2095 m) can be reached by several modern chair lifts, and from it you can go down in different directions (up to heights of 1800-1600 m) along short but very interesting (steep and winding) red runs. On one of these routes we get to the valley at the foot of the Horberg-Gerent mountain range (1620-2278 m). Red and black slopes lead down from its top and an excellent route - good slopes, good turns...
From the valley in a new 150-seat carriage you can climb to a height of 2500 m and find yourself in the Rastgogel zone (1850-2500 m). There are several straight, but long red and blue trails that allow even beginners to run around. From Rastgogel it is easy to get to the Eggalm area (1300-2300 m). Skating is not for beginners - the tracks are red (except one), steep, with sharp turns. From the Eggalm you can directly ski down to the village of Lanersbach, which is 7 km from the Tuxer Glacier. This path (Penken-Rastgogel-Eggalm) will avoid the rather tedious bus trip to the glacier from Mayrhofen.
Ahorn (AHORN)(600-1965 m.) - an area for learning and safe skiing for children. Rising from the southern outskirts of Mayrhofen by funicular will lead to a rather extensive upland plateau. There are a number of short groomed blue pistes that are serviced by ski lifts and one chair lift.
