Cabinet for oven and hob - assembly steps the simplest design

March 27, 2018
Specialization: master in construction drywall constructions, finishing works and styling floor coverings. Installation of door and window blocks, facade finishing, installation of electrics, plumbing and heating - I can give detailed advice on all types of work.

Today we will figure out how to assemble a reliable cabinet for the oven and hob. Work is within the power of almost any person, the main thing is to have at hand necessary materials and tool.

Stages of work

Let's figure out how to properly organize the workflow, for simplicity, we divide all activities into 3 stages:

  • Training;
  • Cabinet assembly;
  • Cutting a hole in a table top.

Preparatory work

To get started, collect everything you need:

  • Chipboard blanks for furniture, They are made in accordance with the rest of the elements kitchen set. The standard width of the cabinet is 600 mm, the depth is from 400 to 600 mm, the 600 mm option is most often used, most ovens fit under it;
  • Furniture supports. The cheapest plastic elements will do, they are easy to use and easy to attach;

  • Fasteners for construction. We will tighten the locker with euro screws, which are also called confirmations. The guides for the drawer are screwed with self-tapping screws 3.5x16 mm;
  • Drawer guides. It is better to purchase a ball version, it is much more reliable and durable than standard roller elements.

From the tool you need the following:

  • screwdriver. In the kit, stock up on equipment: nozzles for self-tapping screws and euro screws, drills of different diameters;

Additionally, purchase a special drill for confirmations, it makes a hole and at the same time selects a pot under the head of the fastener.

  • Electric jigsaw. Necessary for drilling an opening in the countertop under the hob;
  • Measuring fixtures, you can do with a tape measure and a pencil.

Assembling the cabinet under the oven

Let's figure out how to assemble a cabinet under the oven. Regardless of the size of the structure, it is always assembled in the same way:

Illustration Description

Side walls being prepared. It is best to order them ready-made, but you can cut the material yourself, for this you use a power saw or a jigsaw.

Sidewalls are being prepared:
  • The line of attachment of the guide is drawn, the height of its location depends on the height of the drawer;
  • Holes are drilled along the location of the partition on which the oven will stand. It is located above the drawer.

Exposed guide, it aligns with the outer end of the structure and the previously drawn line.

The guide is fixed. For this, self-tapping screws are used, which are located in holes specially designed for this. There must be at least four fasteners per rail.

Another guide is similarly attached to the second wall.

The bottom of the cabinet is being prepared. 4 holes are drilled in it for confirmations, the indent from the front and back sides is 50-70 mm, the indent from the edge to the middle is 9 mm, since the thickness of the plate is 18 mm.

If the thickness of the chipboard is 20 mm or more, then the indentation is made by half the thickness of the plate.

Legs attached to the bottom. Points are marked with an indent of 5 cm from the edges, and supports are attached there. They are screwed on self-tapping screws 3.5x16 mm.

The bottom is placed on the edge, the side of the cabinet is combined with it. Holes are pre-drilled in it using a confirmatory drill.

Side walls screw on. To do this, euro screws are inserted into the holes and tightened with a screwdriver so that the cap is flush with the surface.

A partition is inserted on which the oven will stand. It is screwed on with confirmations from the sides.

Cabinet is almost ready. It remains to assemble the box according to the size of the opening and attach the mating parts of the guides to it.

The finished box is inserted into the opening. The cabinet is ready, you can proceed to the preparation of the countertop.

Preparing the worktop for the hob

The table-top can be both separate, and integral for all working zone. A cabinet is placed, a tabletop is fixed on it and the following work is carried out:

Illustration Description

The center of the panel is marked. The line is drawn strictly perpendicular to the wall.

For this marking, the outer part of the hob is pre-measured.

Sketch of the body of the kitchen section, without facades.

In this section, as sliding elements, telescopic guides of full extension with a size of 550 mm are used.

The red line next to the size number indicates the edge. This means that this end of the part is front (visible) and it must be lined with a furniture edge. If there are two lines, then this means that both ends of the part of the corresponding size are pasted over with an edge.

In the given detailing of the kitchen section (module), the dimensions are indicated without taking into account the thickness of the edge.

The thickness of furniture edges up to 0.6 mm thick does not need to be taken into account in the size of the part . The part size will need to be reduced by the appropriate edge thickness if the edge, for example ABS, is to be 1 or 2 mm thick. For example: part width 400 mm, edge thickness 2 mm. it is necessary to paste over both ends of the part. Then the width dimension of the part must be adjusted to the thickness of the edge. Those. get 400 - 2 mm. - 2 mm. = 396 mm.

Box design rules for oven are provided in this article.

To find out what a cabinet for a hob and an oven is, you need to read the instructions of experienced furniture makers.

No normal housewife can do without a quality oven.

Good meals often cannot be prepared without such a device.

There are many varieties of this available on the market today. household appliances, differing in design features and the principle of operation, usable volume, etc.

To decide on one model, you will have to consider the main features of modern ovens.

According to the principle of installation, such products are divided into:

  • Independent, suitable for installation in a furniture niche, easily moved to any convenient place.
  • Built-in, which are mounted in special furniture niches, are not removed after installation.

The principle of heating the oven can be as follows:

  • Gas, work with which can only be trusted by experienced specialists of the relevant authorities.
  • electrical, the best way suitable for self-installation.

In addition to the convenience of installing an electric oven, there are other advantages:

  • The increase in temperature in a gas oven is carried out due to the combustion of fuel passing into the chamber through a special nozzle. Heating is thus created uneven.
  • In electric ovens heating elements installed in the chamber from four sides. Thus, the food is heated evenly. That is, the quality of cooked food in electric ovens is much higher.

Oven cabinet design

You can consider two main types of modules for the oven.

In each such model, an additional variation can be applied. The oven with a working surface is the most popular. Another popular option is the oven in a pencil case. The box under the hob can be made in several versions:

  • With drawer above oven.
  • With a drawer under the oven.

An oven located at eye level in a special pencil case can have a work surface above the cabinet itself in a pencil case without.

What is good box under the hob

The curbstone on the hob and the oven with, into which the insert is made, has the following features:

  • There is a usable area for cooking.
  • This design allows you to save free space in the kitchen.
  • A definite advantage is that a cook of any height can comfortably use such products.

The disadvantages of such boxes include the need to work in a slightly bent state. You will have to bend over all the time when food is cooking in the oven.

At the bottom of the hob is a ventilation system for cooling. When the box is placed at the top under the very hob, there is a possibility of blocking the system due to overheating. If you put, for example, a sheet of paper in such a box, it will immediately be sucked in. Thus, the ventilation system will lose air flow.

Convenient operation of the stove is ensured by placing it at chest level. A housewife under such conditions will cook a lot of tasty and healthy food with great pleasure. To look into the oven, you do not have to bend down every time. If the housewife is small in stature, this arrangement of the oven can cause some inconvenience.

Such difficulties are easily eliminated if the box for the oven is designed according to the individual requests of the client.

Main dimensions

Today, many kitchen sets are made with built-in household appliances. That's why design features such modules need to be understood.

The oven box has two standard sizes:

  • Width 600 mm.
  • The height of the internal opening corresponding to 600 mm. In some cases, the height of such an opening is 595 mm.

The height of the box determines only the dimensions of the lower drawer with a front. The dimensions of the niche required for the installation of technical means can always be determined in the instructions. It is these dimensions that the cabinet for the hob and oven should correspond to.

It will be possible to purchase such a product cheaply only if the supplier of furniture products provides the opportunity to select individual finished sections.

In the curbstone, the bottom, walls and top panel should not be skewed. The bottom should be as parallel to the floor level as possible.

Joint integration kitchen furniture and technology is not an easy task, especially with small areas in houses built in the last century. In vogue allows you to solve two challenging tasks: save space and decorate the kitchen according to your own taste. Manufacturers offer a wide range of devices, which makes it possible to create a unique combination of style and functionality. Kitchen sets on sale may have a place for built-in hob and a separate cabinet for the oven or a module that combines both elements. But what is the induction hob and how to choose it for yourself and the kitchen. can see

Varieties of cabinets for the hob and oven

The oven box is an indispensable element in the kitchen if the oven is built-in. It can be installed anywhere.

Curbstones and cases for the oven

There are two design options for placing the oven:

Each of these types has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The box under the hob is a classic option.

The positive aspects of this placement:

  • Cooking is concentrated in one place, which facilitates the process of caring for devices, saves time and effort of the cook.
  • The appearance of a standard kitchen original design hob and oven.
  • Comfortable for people of all sizes.

Negative sides of the combination:

  • Cooking in the oven will require constant tilting.
  • It is inconvenient to get a hot pan or brazier.
  • Washing of the inner surface takes place in a bent form.
  • Water ingress from the stove electronic system management.

When placed in a pencil case, the plus will be:

  • the ability to cook and wash the oven without tilting;
  • selection of the location of the unit according to the growth of the cooker;
  • creation of modern kitchen design.

The disadvantage may be the fragility of the structure on which the oven is placed, the weight of which can be more than 30-40 kg.

But what is the difference between an induction hob and an electric hob and which one should you choose?

Video: how to install the built-in hob in the table and connect it yourself

On the video - how the installation takes place on site:

The issue with a cabinet or cabinet for built-in appliances can be solved in 4 ways:

  1. buy complete with oven or hob;
  2. purchase as a separate element of the kitchen set;
  3. order from a furniture company;
  4. do it yourself.

In the first case, this happens infrequently: usually built-in appliances are sold without a box or countertop.

When purchasing furniture, you need to pay attention to the following point: the dimensions of the box should exceed the parameters of the oven by no more than 15-20 mm.

This is a hard limit that must be observed, otherwise problems will arise during operation or when installing the oven:

  1. with a smaller gap between the walls of the box and the oven, there will be no air circulation, which will lead to overheating of the device;
  2. with a larger gap, installation problems will arise.

In custom manufacturing, any option can be provided, including corner placement. It is preferable to entrust the matter to a professional than to do it yourself, since with all the simplicity of the design, installing the box and connecting it requires the knowledge and experience of an electrician.

But which stove is better induction or electric and by what parameters it is worth choosing it, it is indicated

How to choose

Built-in hobs and ovens are sold as a set or individually.

For this reason, hobs are divided into dependent and independent:

  • for dependent surfaces sold complete with an oven, the control buttons are located on the oven door;
  • for independent ones, control is located on its surface.

Built-in ovens are available in the following sizes:

  • width 60, 90, 45 cm;
  • height 45, 55 - 60 cm;
  • depth 50 - 55 cm.

Dimensions are taken into account in the design of the module hob: The distance from the wall or other vertical surfaces should be at least 50 mm for air circulation so as not to cause overheating. The curbstone for the hob and oven can be with a drawer in the upper or lower part.

But what gas stove better for use and by what parameters it is worth choosing, this will help to understand

On the video - how to make the right choice:

Do not mount the stove above an oven that is not ventilated.

The installation of the hob must have an ideal flat surface so as not to impair its performance.

Connecting the hob to the electrical wiring requires professional knowledge, since the cross section of the connection wire is calculated independently depending on the power of the stove.

The electrical wiring must be protected, and a switch must be installed to turn off the stove in an emergency.

When installing a built-in oven, the following rules must be observed:

  • the room must be dry;
  • have a good
  • the location of the oven must allow easy access to the controls.

In the design of the box, it is necessary to take into account the width, depth of the oven and the size of the gap for the lower (upper) drawer.

If there is a back wall in the oven box, then it is necessary to cut a hole in it for electrical wires. Wiring must match the power of the appliance.

When installing a gas oven, it is required to connect the main line to the hose from the oven.

The connection must be made by a specialist.

After placing the oven in the box, it is necessary to adjust its position vertically and horizontally and fix it.

A cabinet for placing a hob and an oven can be purchased as an element of a kitchen set. If this is not provided, then it is made to order or made by hand. In traditional kitchen ovens, the oven is combined with the hob. But not all housewives are satisfied with this option for organizing the workspace. To make the cooking process as convenient as possible, and the interior of the kitchen - stylish and compact, they use special furniture for embedding ovens.

Features and benefits of a kitchen with a built-in oven

An oven cabinet is a design designed to install an oven in it. It can either be part of a furniture set or purchased separately.

The advantages of a kitchen interior with a built-in oven include:

  • visual appeal - such an interior looks much more elegant than a kitchen with a conventional oven;
  • saving usable space;
  • the ability to organize a “working triangle” (cooking area) in a way that is convenient for the owners of the house;
  • practicality - such furniture often combines several functions at once. For example, it can serve as a storage system.

But such a solution has some features that must be considered when choosing:

  • the cost of built-in appliances complete with furniture is higher than traditional;
  • in the event of a rearrangement or failure of equipment, problems may arise: the oven will have to be changed along with the cabinet, since it will be difficult to find a design that is suitable in size - usually furniture is selected for the equipment, and not vice versa.

Types of designs of kitchen cabinets for built-in ovens

For embedding appliances, two types of furniture are used:

  • floor cabinets;
  • cupboards.

The cabinet for the built-in oven allows you to place it at a height of no more than 20 cm from the floor. For most housewives, this is a familiar option.

An oven case involves placing appliances on one of its shelves and has the following advantages:

  • allows you to set the oven at the optimum height;
  • makes it possible to make it inaccessible to small children;
  • perfect for people who have a hard time bending over.

Pencil cases are not suitable for cramped kitchens - they look too bulky there. In this case, it is better to choose a floor cabinet higher.

Depending on the shape, the furniture for the oven can be:

  • straight - in the form of a rectangle. Typically, such designs are part of the furniture composition of the headset;
  • corner - are made in the form of triangles or trapezoids and allow you to install equipment in the corner.

Particular attention should be paid to the material from which the cabinet is made. It must not only withstand the impressive weight of equipment, but also be heat-resistant and safe for humans.

For the manufacture of structures for the oven use:

  • Chipboard - is inexpensive and does not have high performance properties;
  • MDF is a higher quality material. Furniture made from it is durable and does not deform under the influence of steam;
  • natural wood is a material that requires special care. It is used for the production of cabinets for the oven in rare cases.

For the manufacture of rear walls and curved elements of the facade, fiberboard or plywood is used.

The material itself and its coatings must not contain toxic synthetic substances: under the influence of heat, they enter the air and can cause serious poisoning.

How to choose an oven cabinet - what are the requirements

Built-in ovens can be:

  • gas;
  • electric.

Gas ovens are more expensive, but pay off faster - gas is cheaper than electricity. However, the heat in them is not distributed so evenly and some products are not baked.

In any case, the furniture should be equipped with a ventilation system - a grill or special holes. Some models are made without a back wall.

Electric models are not economical and require high-quality wiring, but the dishes in them are cooked evenly, for which they have received recognition from most housewives.

It is important to choose the right furniture size. If this is an oven cabinet, then its height is usually from 65 to 80 cm.

Depending on the design, this parameter includes:

  • the height of the oven box is 59.5 or 60 cm (standard);
  • height of legs / base - 10-12 cm;
  • tabletop thickness - 2-4 cm;
  • drawer height - 10-20 cm.

The depth of the cabinet is from 50 to 65 cm, depending on the model of built-in appliances. Of these, about 10-13 cm is the overlap of the countertop on the body, which is necessary for the stable placement of the oven. Width varies from 50 to 120 cm.

The sizes of kitchen cabinets are more variable, their depth and width are identical to the parameters of the cabinets, and their height can be from 160 to 220 cm.

The module under the oven should always be larger than the appliance itself in order to ensure free air circulation.

What can combine in a cabinet for a built-in oven

The cabinet for the built-in oven can combine the functions of other household appliances:

  • microwave ovens (microwaves);
  • hobs.

The oven with the microwave function has gained wide popularity due to its practicality and convenience. It allows you to use the oven as a microwave, and modern models are equipped with other modes of operation - for example, defrosting, grilling, baking.

Structurally, this technique is an oven equipped with a magnetron - a microwave radiation generator.

Any oven can be combined with a hob. There are two options for this technique:

  • dependent set - in it the cabinet and the panel have a common control system;
  • independent - in this case, the oven and hob are purchased separately.

The dependent set looks stylish and harmonious, but is inferior to the independent set in practicality - in the event of a breakdown, the entire structure fails. In addition, in the latter case, it is possible to choose equipment that meets the needs of the hostess.

Additional equipment for oven cabinets - storage and opening systems

Furniture under the oven can be used to store kitchen utensils.

For floor cabinets, the storage system is represented by an upper or lower drawer of limited height. Because of this, only certain items can be stored in it. For example, frying pans and baking sheets.

The cabinet-pencil case has more opportunities for organizing the storage system - in it it can be represented by open shelves, drawers and compartments with doors.

Typically, the oven is built into the middle of the structure, so the storage compartment is located below or above.

In the closed sections of the cabinet-pencil case are used different types door opening mechanisms:

  • hinged - the simplest: the doors are hinged and open "on themselves";
  • folding - horizontal system on hinges: open up or down;
  • lifting - open with gas lifts.

Rules for placing cabinets under the oven in the kitchen

In order for the oven cabinet to harmoniously fit into the interior of the kitchen, to be convenient and safe to use, when placing it, follow the following recommendations:

  • follow the rule of the "working triangle" - a space limited by three points: an oven, a sink and a refrigerator. The total sum of its sides should not exceed 6 meters;
  • choose a comfortable height of equipment. The best option- from 20 to 80 cm above the floor;
  • do not place the oven close to the refrigerator: this can lead to breakage of one of the appliances;
  • the distance between the sink and the oven must be less than 45 cm to avoid short circuits;
  • the gas oven should be located no further than 1.2 m from the pipe - the longer the hose, the less reliable it is;
  • consider the opening area. It should allow you to freely pull the baking sheet out of the oven.

Steps and rules for installing an oven in a kitchen set

Installation of a built-in oven consists of several stages:

  • checking equipment for operability by connecting to the network;
  • installation of the cabinet in the right place;
  • checking the wiring - it must have a sufficient level of resistance and be grounded. It is desirable to have a circuit breaker that operates in case of voltage drops;
  • if the oven is gas - check the pipes. They must be intact, without damage;
  • placing the oven in a furniture niche. If the cabinet is equipped with a rear wall, then it is necessary to make holes for wires in it;
