Gas stove: device, replacement, connection, minor repairs. Connecting a gas stove - is it possible to do it yourself? How to turn on the gas

A modern gas stove is much more complicated than its half-century-old predecessors, often still working properly. Nevertheless, do-it-yourself basic repair of a gas stove is quite possible and most often does not present any particular difficulties; you only need to know the device of the stove and the rules for handling gas well.

A separate issue is the replacement of the gas stove. On the one hand, the rules for the operation of household gas appliances categorically prohibit independent work related to the supply of gas, on the one hand. On the other hand, the cost of installing a stove by a Gorgaz fitter is about 1,000 rubles, which is half the price of certified IP masters. However, there are many "bearish corners", including in big cities, where both of them not only hack, but also directly allow gross violations of safety regulations. Therefore, it would be quite justified to consider how to connect a gas stove with your own hands.

Domestic natural gas and how to handle it

Everyone knows that a combustible gas mixed with air in a certain proportion is explosive. But, oddly enough, it comes to an explosion when working with gas for a different reason.

For the sake of safety, a small amount of fragrance, mercaptan, is added to household gas. This is an extremely stinky chemical, and in theory, if it leaks long before the concentration reaches a dangerous level, an unbearable stench will spread throughout the area and someone will dial 104. But if the gas comes from an open pipe, a different situation is possible.

Most of the natural gas is saturated hydrocarbons - propane, butane. However, there is always a certain amount of unsaturated ones - ethylene, propylene. They have a psychotropic effect: sensations are dulled, and a person ceases to pay attention to the hiss of gas and the smell of a perfume. Mental disorders and inappropriate actions are also possible, for example, an attempt to light a cigarette in an atmosphere saturated with gas.

To protect yourself and your home when working with gas, you must strictly observe the following requirements:

  1. completely de-energize the apartment by unscrewing the plugs or turning off the main machine;
  2. remove all self-powered mobile devices from the apartment, completely turn off the computer UPS (uninterruptible power supply);
  3. wide open doors and windows throughout the room;
  4. before starting work, close the shut-off valve on the descent from the gas riser to the stove and unplug the power supply plug from the socket;
  5. use only special, for gas fittings, consumables, components and tools;
  6. prepare a plug in advance from a wet rag, and under the supply pipe 1/2 ″ - from an old wine cork;
  7. plug any open pipe immediately, and only after that continue work;
  8. work quickly, confidently, with full knowledge of the matter;
  9. after rebuilding any connection, apply gas by opening the shut-off valve and check it with soapy water. The slightest bubble - we immediately close the valve and bring it to full tightness;
  10. if there is a hiss or smell of gas for an unclear reason, immediately close the shut-off valve and call an emergency gas service specialist using 104.

The rag must be wet for gas tightness. Household gas is supplied under low pressure - from 100 to 300 mm. water. column (for comparison: 1 atm = 10.5 m water column) - and will not squeeze moisture out of the pores of the rag.

The cork from the narrow end, compressed by the neck of the bottle, is cut into a cone with a sharp knife and treated with sandpaper. Insert tightly into the pipe, slightly turning back and forth. Remove, if stuck, with a corkscrew.

Soap solution in distilled water can not be prepared. A children's set for blowing soap bubbles is very well suited: it is convenient to check the reliability of the shut-off valve with a ring on a stick from it. Another way is 5-10 drops of any liquid dish detergent in a glass of water.

Tools and materials

Gas fittings are made of bronze or other alloys that do not spark on impact. An additional condition is two orders of magnitude better (based on the ratio of the viscosity of gas and water) tightness. Therefore, you need to buy faucets, hoses, etc. certified, in specialized stores. Visually, they can be distinguished from plumbing by a yellow handle, black, yellow or black braid with a yellow stripe. Remember: the price of unreasonable savings is life.

There are two types of supply hoses: from special rubber in a metal sheath (black) and corrugated metal (bellows) in a plastic sheath (yellow). The latter are twice as expensive, but their estimated service life is twice as long. Rubber is still preferable: it is more difficult to damage, it will not crack if accidentally bent, and a good branded hose will last at least 20 years.

The best insulation for threads is linen tow impregnated with a special Unipack paste for gas, with the joint painted on the outside after assembly. The FUM tape and the Teflon thread, which hold well on the water supply, on gas over time give an insignificant, but not harmless leak.

From the tool, in addition to screwdrivers, an adjustable wrench, pliers, a gas (pipe) wrench is absolutely necessary, see fig; for the stove - No. 1 (the smallest). If it is planned to replace the shut-off valve on the descent, then key No. 2 is also needed, otherwise, trying to turn off the old valve stuck to the pipe, you can break the descent, and gas from the riser will rush into the apartment.

An indispensable accessory of a modern gas stove is a dielectric insert between the inlet hose and the shut-off valve. Now almost all stoves are supplied with electric ignition; in addition, according to GOST R 50696-94, the oven of any stove must be equipped with a gas control system (see below), which shuts off the gas when the flame goes out. All this (the flame is an excellent conductor of electricity) gives a strong electrical leakage to the gas riser, which is by no means safe, so electrical insulation of the stove from the riser is necessary. In addition, if the plate is equipped with a control microprocessor, then floating electrical potentials without an insulating insert will quickly disable it.

Plate device

The device of a gas stove of modern design includes the following systems:

  • Gas - internal distribution pipeline, control valves, burners, burners.
  • Electric - electric ignition, lighting, electric grill.
  • Gas control - a thermocouple with an electromagnetic latch.
  • Management and control - microprocessor, timer, thermometer, etc.
  • Carrying - a cabinet made of enamelled special steel or stainless steel with ventilation ducts.

The supporting structure of the slab can only be damaged with a sledgehammer; the control system belongs to the competence of specialists in microelectronics, so we will consider only the first three.

Gas

Faucets and burners

The basis of the gas fittings of the stove is a control valve and a burner. The crane device is shown in the figure on the left. The tap is built into the distribution pipe; gas enters it through the holes in the cage and the corresponding holes in the conical coupling. When the valve is turned, the gas supply changes according to the degree of overlap of the holes in the holder and coupling. The grub screw (headless screw), marked in red, together with the spring, ball and shaped groove in the cage, fixes the valve in standard positions: full flame, minimum (duty), medium flame. By unscrewing the pin, the crane can be completely disassembled.

The same figure shows a part of an injection burner with external afterburning, used in old stoves, according to GOST 10798-77. In essence, this is a Bunsen burner familiar from school chemistry lessons.

Gas is blown into the burner cavity through a nozzle (injector), very often incorrectly called a jet. The strength of the flame is regulated by the suction of air through two disks with windows. By turning the discs relative to each other, the maximum flame can be adjusted according to the gas pressure. To prevent the flame from flashing inward, the gas-air mixture is initially prepared re-enriched, as in the prechamber of an automobile engine with flame ignition, and the gas is completely burned outside.

Afterburners, thanks to their truly "oak" reliability, work for 100 years or more. But they have a serious drawback: when the flame comes into contact with the relatively cold walls of the dishes, combustion is incomplete, and a certain amount of carbon monoxide (carbon monoxide) is formed. At the time of Bunsen, the content of carbon monoxide in the air of 1% by volume was considered to be taken with a large margin, but now the maximum allowable is 0.2%, and in the light of recent medical research, this rate should be reduced by 5-10 times in the coming years. Therefore, the new boards use injection burners with a profiled channel (see figure on the right).

Modern gas burner household stove

In such a burner, the mixture is immediately prepared with an optimal composition, and flame flash is excluded due to the geometry of the burner as a whole. The synergy of the processes in such a burner is very complex, it is calculated by numerical computer simulation, and a sufficiently high production culture is required, but a profiled burner does not produce waste at all and almost does not produce soot.

The maximum power of the flame is regulated by a needle jet due to the supply of gas, and air is always sucked in exactly as much as is needed for complete combustion. If you remove the “pancake” of such a burner (or the top panel of the stove, depending on the design), then next to the burner you can see the jet adjusting screw. Turning it to the left (turning it off) increases the gas supply; on the contrary, they decrease. The adjustment is “sharp”, the count goes to quarters and eighths of a turn, so you need to adjust carefully.

Oven

In old stoves, the oven burner consisted of two pipes with rows of injectors. It had to be ignited with a burning piece of paper rolled up with a tube or a special match, and for normal combustion a powerful air supply and flue gas removal were required. Therefore, it is unacceptable to lean the old stove against furniture or cover the lower opening with a decorative overlay: during the operation of the oven, waste will go into the air in quantities dangerous to health.

In modern stoves, the oven burner is also profiled, only large, with a plate and larger. When arranging a kitchen with such a stove, you should follow the instructions for it, or the instructions in the section on installing the stove in this article.

Electric ignition

A specific part of the electrical equipment of a gas stove is electric ignition.

  • On the one hand, the electrical strength of the gas-air mixture (so to speak, its electrical breakdown ability) is several times lower than that of air, so that a powerful spark, a voltage of 10–20 kV, and appropriate insulation are not required.
  • On the other hand, the spark gap (ignition electrode) with an insulator is located next to the flame, gets very hot and can be flooded with runaway cooking, so it is the electric ignition that causes most of the stove malfunctions.

Gas control

Gas control is an autonomous system that is not connected to the power supply network and is not controlled by electronics. It consists of only two nodes: a thermocouple with a solenoid valve and connecting wires between them.

The gas control works like this: when the gas is opened, the valve flap is released, but does not fall as long as the flame adjustment knob is pressed and held. When ignited, the thermocouple heats up and gives current to the electromagnet holding the damper. If the flame goes out when the burner tap is open, the thermocouple cools down, the electromagnet releases, the damper falls and shuts off the gas. Another version is the adjustment knob with a return spring, and the electromagnet holds the spring-loaded stopper of the knob. When the flame goes out, the electromagnet releases, the stopper moves away, and the handle returns to the zero position, shutting off the gas.

The gas control operating conditions are also difficult: the thermocouple gives a large current at low voltage, and the entire system is very sensitive to the state of the contacts. The thermocouple in the case is in contact with the flame, is covered with soot, can be flooded. Because of this, the warm-up time of the thermocouple can, with a completely serviceable system as a whole, increase more than the initial holding time of the damper (latch) and the ignited burner will be extinguished. Gas control is the second most common source of stove malfunctions.

Gas stove repair

The stove needs to be repaired thoroughly cleaned. It's all about the salt; more precisely - in the sodium contained in it. Incandescent sodium produces a very intense line in the yellow part of the spectrum (everyone has seen sodium lamps for large outdoor areas; Nernst lamps), and the smallest grain of salt can be confusing, turning the flame yellow and thus creating the appearance of a malfunction where there is none.

Remember: in all the cases described below, before starting work, it is necessary to shut off the gas supply at the descent, and before opening the valve, carefully check the correct assembly of the components!

Possible cases

Doesn't light up at all

If the gas stove does not light up and you can’t hear even a short hiss of gas when you turn any of the knobs, and the gas supply is from the cylinder, you need to check the pressure in it (maybe the gas just ran out) and the condition of the reducer - is it blocked. When powered from the gas supply network - we look at the shut-off valve on the downstream; perhaps someone at home blocked it. Otherwise, without options, we call 104: stopping the gas supply is a serious emergency, as it can lead to airing the system with further catastrophic consequences.

Doesn't spark

If the electric ignition of the gas stove does not work on all burners and the oven, the problem is in the high voltage source. There is no need to climb there on your own, this is the business of a specialist.

If at least one burner sparks, we check the condition of the arresters with insulators. If the insulators are intact, but just dirty, then "the spark goes to the ground." It is necessary to clean: the arresters with a fine sandpaper, and the insulators - first with a detergent for the stove, then with a piece of rags moistened with 96% alcohol (not vodka, cologne or moonshine!)

Important: do not forget to first completely disconnect the stove from the mains by removing the plug from the socket!

If the insulator is cracked, it must be replaced along with the arrester. This did not help either - remove the top panel of the plate and check the wire and contacts. Contacts rarely fail: the current in the high-voltage circuit is small, but the insulation of the wire from heating can be damaged, and it will close to the case.

Video: cleaning electrical ignition contacts

There is a spark, but it does not burn or hiss

Probably clogged injector. It is cleaned with a sewing needle. It is not necessary to press and “gouge” the calibrated hole, just insert the tip and easily rotate the needle between your fingers.

Lights up, lights up normally, then goes out

Most likely, the thermocouple case is dirty or the contacts of its circuit are oxidized. Contacts must be separated and cleaned with a cotton swab with alcohol; the cover is cleaned with any detergent for the stove. Then we check the thermocouple with an electromagnet: we light the burner and hold the handle for 2 minutes. If, after releasing the burner, it still goes out, you need to contact a specialist or make a warranty claim. If, after warming up for 2 minutes, it burns steadily, it means that the thermocouple and contacts have not been cleaned well, you need to clean it again. Even a specialist sometimes has to tinker with contacts: due to the high current in the circuit, gas control is critical to their condition. Therefore, if you are not an experienced electrician, it is better to turn to professionals.

Part of the burner is on; flame normal

The output channels are clogged. We remove the burner, “pancake” from it and clean it with a toothbrush under a stream of warm water with dish detergent. It is impossible to pick with wire or a nail, as in old stoves: a profiled burner is sensitive to the configuration of parts and can be completely damaged from such handling. Then we wipe it dry, dry it on a battery or a windowsill for half an hour, collect it and put it in place.

Make sure that the protrusions of the burner fall into the grooves of its seat, and the cover (pancake) lies in place evenly, without distortion and displacement!

The flame is partially broken, strongly hisses

The supply of gas or, in old stoves, air is great. We reduce by screwing (a little bit!) the jet screw or air discs. To adjust the discs, you will have to unscrew the locking pin, and then wrap it tightly. The normal length of the flames is 2-2.5 cm. It is better to make it smaller so that, suddenly, the gas pressure in the system increases, it does not “puff”. The exact reference is sound. A normal flame should be silent. Increasing the flame for the sake of speeding up cooking is unacceptable!

The flame is sluggish, yellow-orange, smoky

In older stoves, you need to increase the air supply with disks. In the new ones, compare all the burners and the oven. If it burns equally badly at everyone, the pressure has dropped, but you don’t need to immediately climb to the jets: within 100-300 mm of water. Art. profiled burners work stably. It is necessary to declare on 104, let them check the pressure on the spot and bring it to normal.

If one burner does not burn well in a new stove, you must first clean its nozzle, as described above. It didn’t help - by carefully rotating the jet screw, we try to increase the flame. The reaction of the flame to the screw must be sharp. If the screw has to be unscrewed strongly, the jet is faulty, it needs to be changed, and this should be done by a specialist.

How to light a stove without electric ignition?

Electric ignition repair is a troublesome business; you need to disassemble the board. Spare parts of the required model, primarily arresters with insulators, are not always on sale, but you need to prepare. Right now it broke down, you need to light it, but there are no matches in the house. How to light a gas stove without matches?

It is best to keep a piezo lighter for the stove, with a long spout, just in case. If it is not there, light a candle with an ordinary lighter and light it. If there is no candle, you need to roll a piece of paper into a tight tube 5 cm long, set it on fire and then use a burning piece of paper - a burner or oven. Burnt stinks, but what can you do? Light immediately with a lighter for lighting - it is easy to burn your hand.

Oven repair

Repair of the gas stove oven is carried out similarly to the upper burners, but with some features:

  • To get to the burner with a jet, you will have to remove the door and the bottom panel of the stove.
  • To remove the door, most often it is not enough to unscrew the hinge screws; you have to slightly unbend the loops, and then bend them back.
  • Having removed the door, it is advisable to unscrew the screws, remove its inner cover, check the condition of the gaskets (and replace if necessary), remove and wash the protective glass.
  • It is permissible to check the operation of the oven burner with the door and bottom panel removed.

Note: when disassembling the door, be careful with the thermometer. By inadvertently hooking its arrow, you can bend the bimetallic spiral, and the device will begin to shamelessly lie.

Replacement and installation of the plate

SNiPs require the slab to be connected with a rigid connection and the horizontal distance from it to the nearest objects is at least 0.8 m. Technically, this is quite justified, and is really necessary for old slabs. However, the rules for installing a gas stove are full of different “as a rule”, “If it is impossible to fulfill the specified requirements”, etc., so first we will figure out what is really necessary and what can be bypassed for the sake of convenience and design.

Hose and valve

What should be a flexible hose for supplying gas to the stove, said above. One condition: you can’t hide it under the wall sheathing. The hose must be accessible for inspection, otherwise it will have to be reconnected, and this is a troublesome and consumable business. If all the fittings are visible and as they should be, the inspectors, as a rule, simply write down the changes in the gas book during the next inspection. The permissible length of the hose is up to 4 m without intermediate joints, but this is larger than the size of an ordinary kitchen, so you don’t have to worry about the length of the hose.

The shut-off valve, if it does not "poison", it is better to leave the old one - this will save time, money and save you from dangerous work. Check the valve for leakage as follows:

  1. Having seized the body of the valve (closed!) With key No. 2, with key No. 1 they clamp the union nut of the branch to the plate and with effort, but carefully turn it off. We work with two hands, the twisting force on the pipe should not be transmitted!
  2. We take a children's set for soap bubbles, dip the ring into the solution and bring it close to the valve outlet. Not a little puffed up - great, you can do everything yourself.
  3. "Pull" - we find out through friends how gas workers work. If in good faith, we buy a new valve, linen with sealing paste and call the master to replace it.

Note: if the pipe is adjacent to the wall and it is impossible to slip the key, carefully move it away with three wooden wedges: two under the riser on both sides of the drop, one under the bend of the drop.

If they do it carelessly, but you don’t want to pay exorbitant prices, you can replace it yourself. But remember - you work with gas, see above! Replacing the valve is not difficult:

  • We prepare a cork or plug from a wet rag.
  • We check on a half-inch pipe cut as it enters, and learn how to quickly plug it.
  • We prepare the room as described.
  • We unscrew the old valve with two keys, as in the previous paragraph (the pipe plug should be at hand).
  • Without losing our heads from the hiss of gas, we quickly plug the pipe.
  • We wind the insulation on the thread. Tow must be pre-impregnated with "Unipack"!
  • We check whether the new valve is closed, remove the plug from the pipe and carefully, but quickly screw the valve by hand until it stops. It is advisable to practice in advance on trimming a threaded pipe: the operation must be completed in seconds.
  • We tighten the valve with a key until its handle is set to the desired position, with a soapy solution we check for leakage along the thread and in the pipe; redo if necessary.
  • We paint over the threaded joint on the outside with oil (!) Paint.

Plate replacement

Gas stove installation diagram

After replacing the valve, the question is: “How to replace the gas stove?” technically, it comes down to connecting it with a flexible hose with standard seals through an insulating insert and checking the joints for leaks with soapy water. If the stove is connected to a cylinder, a reducer and a pressure gauge are also needed. Much more serious than the problem of placing the stove in the kitchen.

First of all, the height and decoration of the room. Here it is impossible to deviate from SNiP: the height is at least 2.2 m, the finish is non-combustible. Further, the distance from the gas stove to the hood. There is no exact regulation, but, with a standard thermal power of 10.8 kW for a four-burner stove, it should also be done according to SNiP: 0.8 m. With a lower heat flow - at least 0.6 m.

As for furniture, first of all, you need to carefully read the instructions for the stove. If there is a regular installation scheme, we do it according to it. If not, or it is described incomprehensibly, we are guided by the rules of safety and heat engineering.

Furniture is high, higher than the stove and combustible, you can’t move closer to the stove closer than the same 0.8 m. The distance from the stove to the furniture is flush with it and non-combustible (steel sink, cutting table with a laminate board, etc.) is determined by the design of the stove .

We examine the sidewalls of the plate. If they are deaf, without vents, the furniture can be moved close, but there should be a gap at the back according to the instructions or at the rate of 1 kW - 1 cm. With the above power, there should be at least 11 cm from the wall to the stove. vents on the sides) the required gap can be divided in two, see fig.; it also indicates the permissible distance to the gas meters with its lateral and upper supply.

Note: according to SNiP, the counter should be located no closer than 0.8 m to the plate horizontally, but gas workers do not find fault if the distance to it corresponds to that of furniture.

Stove and refrigerator

Can I put a refrigerator next to a gas stove? In no case, and according to the requirements of safety rules, and just out of mind.

The refrigerator is a fairly powerful source of heat. Recall: the heat taken from its contents is transferred to the air due to the circulation of the refrigerant, plus the power of the compressor that pumps the refrigerant. From the neighborhood with more kilowatts of heat, the refrigerator will consume an excessive amount of electricity, the compressor will quickly fail due to overload, and the foam insulation from heating from the outside will soon deteriorate.

In general, the refrigerator should be kept away from the stove, and the ideal place for it is a glazed balcony. The savings in electricity are such that the cost of glazing pays off in two or three ordinary winters.

Cooker power supply

A gas stove without an electric grill is not a particularly powerful consumer of electricity, but it still needs to be powered through a separate 16 A machine and always through a grounded outlet. The reason is the difficult working conditions of the electrical equipment of the stove, the high electrical conductivity of the flame and, as a result, an increased risk of breakdown.

Video: self-connecting a gas stove

Outcome

And yet, the best way to repair and install a gas stove is to find out how professional your gas workers are and, if there are no complaints about their work, contact them. They don’t joke with gas, and the saved 1000, well, let 1500 rubles. can turn into a big disaster.

The gasman came, checked the gas, said you had a gas leak, you need to replace the old valve with a new one, like the old Soviet valve was worn out, ripped off the money and changed it to a new one, although there was no smell with the old one. After the replacement, it began to stink in the apartment with gas, what should I do?

  • The gas workers came, they said that they were from the gas company to check the equipment. I was not at home and my wife let them in. They determined that the gas valve on the pipe needed to be replaced and there was a malfunction in the gas stove. Work together with spare parts for 8 thousand. Then I returned and almost kicked the gas workers out. A month later, there was a scheduled inspection of GORGAZ in the house. Everything is in order and there are no malfunctions.

    I had a problem, there was a gas leak, the stove was built into the countertop with electric ignition, I made a request to the rygas to fix the leak, but I wanted to fix it faster and thought to call a specialist in the ad, but after talking on the phone I was charged a high price, I thought and decided to wait for a specialist with two days later, he came to the gas station and found damage to the connecting hose with the gas riser, I had to urgently buy a new hose at the hardware store and made a replacement, but 3 hours after replacing the hose, there was a smell of rubber, I started looking for the cause and found the gas pipe with the hose connection was very hot, I even I got burned, I was in a panic, immediately shut off the gas supply valve, called the master from the rygas who did the replacement, he arrived an hour later, but the pipe and connecting nut did not even cool down, he did not know why he unscrewed the hose, the gas supply pipe sparked, then pulling the plug out of the socket for electric ignition, the sparking stopped, but the hose with an internal rubber braid was not suitable, the next day I had to buy a new but already corrugated metal one, the master himself was at a loss to install a new one, but they didn’t plug the plug into the outlet, since the stove had a triple plug during installation and it was cut off and connected to a double one, to which the master said that the junction was in contact with the gas hose and therefore heated up, although after reading your tips on repairing the gas stove, I realized that it was necessary to remove the plug from the outlet before replacing the hose. Here are our grief masters who work in the state. organizations themselves do not know anything, probably you need to read the advice of craftsmen yourself and give advice to craftsmen when repairing equipment, I was convinced more than once, but here I blundered something. I want to ask a question in my situation, what led to the heating of the gas pipe and the hose connecting the pipe to the stove? Thank you in advance for your response.

    Is it possible to replace the oven in a gas stove by yourself? The bottom of the oven burned out and now it is impossible to use it, but without it nothing. Is it possible to replace only the oven or is it not removable from the hob body? I don't know the brand of the Ariston stove.

    Helped to connect the stove more than once. I think that this is not a difficult process if you know the nuances. But as for the repair, this information is quite useful. Previously, it seemed that it was easier to call the master, but now I will do it myself.

    I do repairs with my family on my own, but I’m very worried about gas, and only to replace the stove I call the master.

How to turn on the stove?

Nowadays, every house has a gas or electric stove, but nevertheless, even experienced housewives sometimes do not know how to turn on an unfamiliar stove.

How to turn on the gas stove

Before turning on a new gas stove, carefully read the instructions that came with it. If for some reason you don’t have instructions, or you want to turn on a stove of an unfamiliar design, for example, when cooking at a party or in a rented apartment, inspect the front panel of the gas stove - a symbolic image should be applied to it near each handle indicating which she controls the burner.

Find a gas pipe suitable for the stove and open the valve embedded in it. Usually the gas in the pipes is blocked by a ball valve, if you have the same valve, turn its handle so that it is parallel to the gas pipe.

Manual ignition of the burner

In the simplest stoves, the gas is ignited manually, using matches or a special lighter. Decide which burner you will turn on, and find out which handle on the stove corresponds to it. Ignite the match, bring it to the edge of the burner, sink the burner handle (i.e. slightly press on it), and at the same time turn it counterclockwise. When the gas that has begun to flow into the burner ignites, quickly remove your hand from the burner and extinguish the match. Set the gas knob to the maximum position, make sure that the gas burns around the entire perimeter of the burner with an even blue flame, then turn the knob to adjust its supply to the amount you need.

In a similar way, you can turn on a gas stove with a lighter, but there is one small nuance in this matter - there are two types of lighters for gas stoves - piezo or electric lighters. If the piezo lighter, before pressing its button, you just need to remove the fuse and bring it to the burner, then the electric lighter must first be connected to the network.

Integrated burner ignition

If you find a button on the left side of this panel, next to which a spark is schematically drawn, then your stove is equipped with a semi-automatic electric ignition function.

A gas stove equipped with a semi-automatic or fully automatic electric ignition function is much easier to ignite. In the first option, you just need to push the knob from the burner you need, turn it a quarter of a turn counterclockwise and at the same time press the electric ignition button. When the gas ignites, the flame can be adjusted. In the second option, the gas in the burner will light up immediately after turning the knob without any additional action. Note: the most modern gas stoves are equipped with a gas supply control system. In such stoves, the handle must not be released immediately after igniting the gas, otherwise the burner may go out. To prevent this from happening, the handle should be held down for about 10 seconds.

How to turn on the electric stove

Electric stoves are much easier to turn on than gas stoves.

  • In classic electric stoves, the inclusion of burners and the oven is carried out using the regulators located on their front panel. The same controls also change the degree of heating. As a rule, each regulator has four fixed positions, starting from position "0", in which the burner or oven is completely turned off, and ending with position "3", which provides maximum heating. Normally the knobs are turned clockwise. In order to turn on such a stove, you just need to turn the knob corresponding to the burner you need in the direction indicated and set it to the desired position.
  • In the most modern stoves with touch control, the inclusion and selection of the mode is carried out by simply touching the desired buttons.

Installing or replacing a gas stove can be entrusted to professionals. But for this you will have to pay extra separately and wait for the arrival of the master. Some connect the gas stove with their own hands - the work is not particularly difficult, but requires strict adherence to a number of requirements.

We offer an introductory manual describing the stages of work, how to connect the unit to the gas distribution pipe and safety standards. This article is informative, and does not call for independent action, since all manipulations with gas are very dangerous.

According to current legislation, gas systems are considered a high-risk area and intervention in their functionality is allowed only by employees of regional and local gas services, distribution companies or firms that have an official license to carry out work of such a plan.

Among the activities requiring the participation of a representative of the gas service include: the initial connection of equipment, reconnection, scheduled and unscheduled repairs, replacement of parts, etc.

The primary connection of the gas stove to the communications of the central system is always carried out only by the official representative of the gas service - a qualified installer with permission

Even if the owners did all the work personally, starting the gas to the burner is allowed only after the specialist inspects all the connecting nodes for possible leaks and officially gives the go-ahead to activate the equipment and its further correct operation.

The owners will be able to carry out the subsequent replacement of the stove with another model on their own, but they still have to notify the gas company about this.

Gas units prepared for installation must be registered with the relevant service. Its employees come to the client every six months and conduct a scheduled inspection of the equipment for compliance with all the rules and regulations for safe operation.

For unauthorized connection to the network or a fine is provided.

After the initial official connection of the stove to the central communications, the owner receives an agreement on the rules for the provision of gas supply services and a subscription book indicating the price for supplying the resource.

However, if after connecting the owner did not use the stove, but first invited the master to examine the correctness and quality of the connections, no punishment will follow. The unit will be inspected, registered as a new gas flow point, and it can be used as usual.

Choosing a place for kitchen equipment

Before connecting a home gas stove to the central communications, a suitable place is chosen for it. It is desirable that the floor in the installation area is absolutely even, otherwise the hob will warp and the dishes will not be able to cook evenly.

The bulk of modern units are equipped with adjusting legs, which make it possible to evenly set the equipment even on the floor with noticeable defects and height differences.

Basic Hose Requirements

The connecting hose used to connect the stove to the central gas system must meet certain requirements^

  • limited length- no more than 1.5 meters;
  • evenness- the surface of the part without extensions or narrowed areas;
  • lack of curvature, knots and twists;
  • durability- the service life can be obtained from the seller or from quality certificates confirming the compliance of the hose with the standards generally accepted for gas equipment;
  • no cracks, cuts, rust and other visible damage.

Another important point to consider is that the hose should under no circumstances touch hard, sharp corners and materials subject to combustion.

It is better if it is freely located behind the plate, not adjacent to any surface. Then the owners will be able to easily control his condition and will not miss the moment when it is required.

Pipe connection

Connecting the stove to a centralized system using a metal pipe is a very reliable, but outdated way. Today it is rarely used because of the complexity and the need in some cases to use specific professional equipment.

When piping the stove to centralized communications supplying the gas resource, copper or steel pipes are used. They have a high level of strength and guarantee a clear, secure connection.

The main disadvantage of connecting with pipes is that in the future the stove cannot be moved away for cleaning or moved to another place without resorting to disconnection from the central communications.

Types of seals for gas systems

So that the nodes connecting the stove to the gas distribution system do not leak and ensure the tightness of all communications for years, special seals are used, for example, Loktite 55 thread or FUM tape.

Gas service employees do not recommend using connecting elements from other materials. Their performance is too weak for such an impressive daily load.

- practical, modern material, designed specifically for secure fixation of connecting sections in communication networks of varying degrees of complexity.

It is a sealing fiber made of high strength multifilament yarns, supplied in plastic containers and has various lengths (from 12 to 160 m, depending on the package).

Thread Loktite 55 is a universal element that provides threaded connections with reliable instant sealing even under strong pressure. The certificate allows the use of the product in gas systems without restrictions

To create a tight connection, I manually wind the thread around the threaded section of the pipeline fittings. It is instantly fixed in place and no longer changes its position.

The second reliable sealing element is FUM tape, made of fluoroplastic 4D.

There are three types of FUM tapes on the market:

  • Mark 1 equipped with additional lubricant based on vaseline oil. It is used in industrial systems and communication networks with caustic, aggressive environments.
  • Mark 2 does not have lubrication and best of all manifests itself in complexes operating on various oxidizing agents.
  • Mark 3 is produced using edge fragments of the first two types and is suitable for both industrial and domestic purposes.

It is a thin thread, laid in a film.

FUM tape demonstrates high anti-corrosion qualities, exhibits good heat resistance and does not emit toxins during active operation.

The FUM tape allows you to make a strong connection of pipe elements, which will provide the system with complete tightness for many years. The warranty period for tape storage in a container is 13 years.

Step-by-step process of connecting a gas stove

Before connecting a gas stove in a house or apartment, they find the most convenient place for it. Then they remove the branded packaging, screw the adjusting legs to the bottom of the unit and place the module in the selected area.

A gap is left between the equipment and the wall, corresponding to the dimensions indicated in the accompanying instructions for household appliances.

A building level is placed near one of the sides, and then, using the adjusting legs, the plate is set as evenly as possible. First, carefully twist the legs on one side, and then on the other.

After all these measures, the unit takes a rigid position, does not sway or roll either to the right or to the left.

Next, connect the equipment with a flexible hose. To do this, from the outside, a layer of special sealant is carefully wound onto the thread of the hose fitting (Loctite 55 thread or FUM tape, designed to fix individual sections in communication systems).

This will ensure further reliability and complete tightness of the complex.

Linen gaskets are not used for sealing in gas systems, since their physical characteristics are much lower than those of FUM tape and Loctite 55 thread

The hose fitting with a seal is screwed into the gas valve on the descent, and the second open end of the hose is screwed into the gas stove outlet thread.

When household appliances are connected for the first time, they contact a specialized service and invite a specialized master who has the appropriate knowledge and the right to activate the equipment.

While working on gas systems in the room, keep windows open and carefully monitor that there are no open flames nearby.

In the presence of a gas service employee, all docking points are treated with a medium concentration soap emulsion, the tap is opened and the system is tested for possible leakage. If the gasman does not find any problems, they start using the stove in standard mode.

Self-installation of a gas stove is carried out in strict accordance with the safety rules governing actions in contact with gas networks.

Rules to be followed:

  1. The flexible hose connecting the unit to the gas supply system is placed in plain sight in an easily accessible place and in no case is blocked by anything. This item should always be available for inspection or scheduled replacement.
  2. The gas hose is made in strict accordance with generally accepted regulatory documents, without exceeding the permitted size by an inch.
  3. The connecting sleeve itself is not painted, as the paint damages the surface and contributes to its premature cracking. If the appearance of the sleeve is not too aesthetic, it is masked under self-adhesive paper.
  4. Directly connect the hose only to the supply tap and gas stove. The adapter is used only in case of a non-standard threaded connection of one of the outputs.
  5. Prior to the installation of the stove, the gas is shut off by turning the shut-off valve on the pipe from the supply riser to the stop, and notify everyone in the room about the ongoing work.
  6. During installation, only special tools, consumables and accessories intended for work with gas fittings are used.
  7. All pipes opened during the connection are immediately plugged. For lowering, use a dense wet rag as a plug. Water, absorbed into the fabric, gives the material a high level of gas impermeability.
  8. To temporarily close the supply pipe with a 1/2″ thread, take a cork from a wine bottle. It is cut along the narrowed edge in the shape of a cone, treated with sandpaper and tightly “screwed” into the pipe hole. If the part is stuck, remove it with a corkscrew.

At the end of the work, the docked sections are coated with a soap solution of medium concentration, the gas shut-off valve is opened and the system is tested for leaks.

If the soapy liquid begins to bubble, the gas is again shut off and the joint areas are brought to full tightness.

When a hiss or smell of gas is heard during the test run, the valve is immediately closed, windows and doors are opened and a team of emergency gas service employees is called.

Sometimes, when connecting or moving a stove, it may be required. This work is carried out only by representatives of the gas service with a preliminary shutdown of the gas throughout the riser.

Do you want to equip your home with individual heating? Already installed and connected gas equipment? Great, then it remains to figure out how to turn on the gas boiler. Do you think it is enough to insert the plug into the socket and select the temperature? No matter how. Before this, it is necessary to bleed the air and fill the system with water. You will find instructions with a sequence of actions in our article.

The first start of the boiler: the beginning

The initial start allows you to assess the condition of the heating system.

Important! In the event of problems during independent switching on, the service center may refuse to guarantee. Perhaps the best solution would be to contact a specialist.

In any case, a specialist must carry out the connection to the gas pipeline. Installation and tying of equipment is carried out strictly according to the scheme. It is important to comply with the requirements for the room for a wall-mounted and floor-standing boiler, the distance from the wall and floor. If all installation work is successfully completed, proceed to the next step.

Filling the system with water

In order for the liquid to enter the system, you need to open the water valve. It is located at the bottom of the case. More precisely, you can look in the instruction manual for your model "Ariston", "Proterm", "Navien" (Navien).

Unscrew the valve gradually, the water should not flow abruptly, otherwise an air lock will occur. As a result, problems with heating will begin. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge while filling. As soon as the values \u200b\u200bare reached 2-2.5 atm, close the tap.

Work with water should be carried out in the warm season, otherwise the liquid will form plugs. If the temperature is below zero, warm the room up to 20 degrees.

After installing and filling a double-circuit or single-circuit heating boiler, take care of removing the remaining air in the pipes.

Bleeding air from the system

Automatically switched on equipment may have an air release function. But it is more efficient to do the work yourself. If you want the room to maintain a stable temperature, then eliminate the possibility of blockages in the pipeline. This is true for old and new models.

Start the process with radiators. Open the Mayevsky cranes located on them.

Pre-substitute containers, because water will drain with air. As soon as the whistling and hissing stops, you can close the taps.

Bleeding starts from the battery, which is located above the rest.

Before starting the boiler, bleed the air from the pump. Is it possible to do it yourself? It is better to carry out the first bleeding manually despite the automation. How to proceed:

  • Dismantle the case by unscrewing the screws;
  • Connect the Wisman, Kiturami, Aton boiler or the one you have at your disposal to the outlet;
  • As soon as the device is started, the pump will turn on and you will hear a gurgle;
  • Using a slotted screwdriver, unscrew the pump nut;
  • As soon as water flows, tighten the nut back. Repeat the process until the gurgling stops.

Keep track of the pressure gauge. If the pressure has dropped, add fluid to the circuit.

An important point is the setting of the batteries. The far radiators are turned on to the maximum, and the near ones to the minimum. As soon as a comfortable indicator is reached, proceed to the next step.

Contour pressing

During startup, this step is often ignored by users. But in vain! The procedure allows you to immediately find out how reliable and tight the system is. Judge for yourself: if a leak occurs at the height of the heating season and you are left without heat, the costs can be much greater. All you need is a pressure pump at hand.

Blow out the system with a powerful stream of air. The interval between switching on is 10 minutes. During this time, keep an eye on the manometer. Is the pressure starting to drop? So, there is a leak that needs to be found and fixed.

Wash cleansing

To ensure that nothing interferes with the circulation of water in the future, open all the taps on the radiators. Now supply liquid under a pressure of 4 bar, after substituting the containers. The flow will clean the pipes of rust and sediment. Then clean the filters from dirt.

How to turn on a gas boiler?

The system is ready, proceed to start the independent boiler. Is it possible to turn it on without gas? No, you need to follow the sequence.

For mounted units Bosch, Vaillant, Beretta, Ferroli (Ferroli), Protherm, Celtic and other models:

  • Plug the device into a socket;
  • Open the gas valve;
  • Press the "Start" button (depending on the model, there may be another key. See the instructions);
  • Using the buttons on the control panel "+" or "-" set the desired temperature;
  • The burner with electronic ignition will light up automatically when switching to hot water supply (DHW) or heating. For piezo ignition, hold down the flame control for a few seconds, then press the piezo button.

Important! During the initial start-up, air could accumulate inside the gas line, so the ignition may be blocked. To unlock, press the "Restart" key.

For parapet boilers of the Aton type, the inclusion is carried out in a similar way. If there is a remote control, then you can set the mode using the remote control.

How to properly turn on the outdoor units Buderus" (Buderus), "Baxi" (Baxi), "Lemax", " AOGV", "Conord", " Danko", " Siberia" and others:

  • Ventilate the room;
  • Make sure there is draft in the chimney;
  • Open the appliance door;
  • The control and temperature selector must be in the "Off" position;
  • Open the gas valve;
  • Set the selector to the piezo ignition position;
  • Press the selector for 5 seconds while pressing the piezo button. The burner should light up;
  • Use the same knob to adjust the temperature values.

Is it possible to leave the boiler on during absence? If you're away from home for an extended period of time, just set the rates to minimum. Low temperatures and frost will lead to freezing of the entire system and other equipment. Metal pipes can break under pressure, then you will have to completely change the heating circuit.

Modern units are equipped with control sensors. After turning off the gas, they block the operation of the device.

Act consistently and carefully, follow the safety rules. To help you, the video on inclusion.

In the oven, the hostess prepares the first and second courses, meat, vegetables, pastries. Baked foods favorably differ from fried foods in their low content of carcinogens, and from boiled foods in a deep, rich taste. In order for the oven to bring only joy and culinary glory to the hostess, you should follow the rules for using this household appliance.

Rules for turning on gas and electric ovens, safety measures

Modern stoves are equipped with reliable security systems. In addition to them, it is necessary to comply with a number of requirements:

  • The oven may only be used by adults who do not suffer from distraction-related disorders.
  • If gas is supplied from cylinders, make sure that the hoses, valves are in good condition, and that there is no smell of gas.
  • Before switching on, the oven door must be held open so that the remaining gas accumulated there can escape.
  • After each use, the walls and door of the cabinet must be cleaned of food particles and splashes that have fallen on them.
  • The condition of the flame should be checked periodically. The oven must not be left unattended.
  • The included oven should not be left open for a long time. It is absolutely unacceptable to use it for space heating.
  • When the oven is switched off, it is possible to cool down only with the door closed to prevent children and pets from getting into it.

Under no circumstances should a faulty oven be used. This may result in gas poisoning or fire. If a malfunction is detected, you need to contact the home master or service center.

Ways to turn on the oven

Ovens come in two main types:

  • Gas. They are cheaper, do not require special utensils, cooked dishes have a familiar taste. Food cooks faster in them. They don't waste electricity.
  • Electrical. Great fire safety, no possibility of explosion. Precisely maintain the set temperature. Ideal for baked goods. Characterized by high power consumption.

How to properly and light the oven in a modern gas stove

Read the user manual carefully before starting the gas oven. Particular attention should be paid to the "Safety Rules" section.

Depending on the configuration of a particular model, it may be provided with an automatic ignition device or manual ignition. All gas stoves must have safety systems that interrupt the gas supply when the burner flame goes out.

In the presence of electric ignition, it is only necessary to turn the control knob and press it, turning on the ignition. The knob must be held down for at least 15 seconds. This is done in order to prevent children from accidentally turning on the burner and in the event that someone passing by simply touched the handle.

If the gas stove model is budgetary and is equipped with only manual ignition, then you will have to arm yourself with matches or a kitchen lighter. The sequence of actions is as follows:

  • open the door, wait half a minute;
  • release both hands;
  • light a match or lighter with one hand, bring it to the ignition hole
  • with the other hand, press and turn the knob for turning on the oven, keep it pressed until the flame appears;
  • after a fire, keep the knob pressed for another 15-30 seconds (depending on the stove model) so that the security system works out;
  • make sure that the burner works smoothly, without gusts of flame and pops;
  • close the door and warm up the cabinet.

Electric oven

Electric ovens can be built into the body of the electric stove, or they can work as a separate device. All of them have similar control systems and security systems. The use of such devices is much easier than gas devices, since there is no risk of gas leakage, fire or explosion. However, such devices have another damaging factor - electric current. A malfunction of the appliance can result in serious injury or fire. Therefore, it is strictly unacceptable to use faulty electrical appliances.

Important! If there is a spark, the smell of burnt wiring or other signs of a malfunction, the device must be immediately disconnected from the mains.

Before turning on the electric oven, you must make sure that it is working properly. Separately, you need to check that water or other liquid that can cause a short circuit or ignite when heated does not get into the cabinet. You need to turn on such cabinets by turning the knob to the required temperature.

Advanced models require pressing a separate start button. Sometimes such a button is integrated into the mode switch. Most electric models are equipped with a timer that turns off the heating after a predetermined time.
