Table for circular saw and router. Do-it-yourself universal table for a router and a circular saw

The manual circular electric saw is a powerful mechanism with significant productivity. One of the key advantages of the circular is excellent maneuverability. But there are also disadvantages, especially if you need to cut large sizes of wood. In order to facilitate the process, you can simply make a table for a circular saw yourself.

Design requirements

Experienced craftsmen are ready to create a circular table with their own hands without any techniques or drawings. However, certain conditions must still be taken into account.

The essential requirements include:

The availability of different functions depends on the working conditions and the wishes of the specialist. These include the ability to carry out high-quality longitudinal and transverse sawing.

Standard products, of which there are hundreds in shopping malls, are made of stainless steel. This is wonderful material. , but further we consider the production of a table for sawing wood.

Table design for a manual type circular is so elementary that most specialists produce it without preparatory drawings and techniques. This is a dense workbench, which is created from wood and plywood.

The most durable table bases are made from alloy. They are the most difficult and require the presence of welder skills. Therefore, often coasters are made from the remnants of lumber. A circular saw is attached under the tabletop, the drive protrudes above it through a specially made slot. The lumber is moved along the table top and sawn into a disk. For convenience and correct operation, the table is equipped with additional devices: an angular and a longitudinal stop.

The tabletop "absorbs" part of the working plane of the disc, the depth of cut will decrease by the thickness of the tabletop. For this reason, it is preferable to choose a circular with the largest disk diameter, and the table top is thin but rigid.

If the saw has not yet been purchased, choose modifications with high power (from 1200 W). They can handle large wood cuts. Holes will be drilled to attach the base. The one-piece base may burst. For this reason, it is desirable to select a mechanism of a different type.

Material selection

To make a circular table with your own hands, you need to remember carpentry skills, stock up on great patience and a small number of materials and appliances.

Materials:

Devices:

  • jigsaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • drill;
  • ruler.

The volume of the countertop will depend on the site of the workshop. At the same time, it will be uncomfortable to cut large pieces on a small table. If the item is completely fits on the working plane, the cut is smoother and more accurate. The height of the legs is chosen depending on the height of the master.

Working on a circular saw is very dangerous, for this reason, care must be taken to protect the fingers. Cut a pusher from a piece of plank or furniture board.

Additions to the made design

Some craftsmen, assembling a table for a hand-held circular saw according to unique drawings, completely remove the factory safety cover, and replace the factory platform with a home-made one. If sawing at an angle is not planned, all devices for adjusting the inclination of the disc can be removed. The power saw is fixed directly on the new base, which makes it possible to win a couple of millimeters of cutting depth.

Without inner casing it is easier to remove the disc, the saw will not clog with chips when working with wet boards. Dismantling will require extra time, but the motor resource is preserved, congestion is prevented.

Circular saw installation

The matter is small. The circular electric saw is located inside the prepared hole. The sole is reinforced with bolts, and the toothed drive should fit freely into the socket.

The table for the circular saw is almost ready. Now it must be treated with a material that protects against moisture, then varnished in several layers (to minimize slip).

The resulting system can be supplemented with something at the discretion of the user (safety cover, device for adjusting the inclination of the disc, carriage, etc.).

A few words about electronics

A circular saw is an electrical special equipment powered by a 220 V power source. If the user has sufficient knowledge and skill in the field of electronics, he is able to bypass the start and pause keys of the saw, and then move them to a convenient place (usually, this is the outside 1st of the stiffeners).

If the model seems complicated, you need to tighten the start key with a wire, and turn on the special equipment with a power cord. However, this method is bad because it excludes the rapid shutdown of the device in the event of an emergency.

Security requirements

  1. One of the most common causes of injury when using a circular saw is the clutter of the workplace. In addition, it is important to monitor the stability, strength of absolutely all components of the system, and in case of imbalance, use measures to eliminate difficulties.
  2. Before connecting the saw, make sure that it is well fixed. If necessary, tighten screws/bolts.
  3. It is strictly forbidden to hold the material close to the cutting point! This is dangerous by bouncing knots, chips into the eyes or onto exposed parts of the body. Be sure to wear glasses before work and clothes with sleeves.

Making a table for a saw on your own is not such a difficult task as it might seem. If there is good material at hand, its characteristics are chosen correctly, and the power of the device ranges from 500 to 1000 W, the above instructions will be the basis of the work.

It should not be overlooked that at any stage in the production of a table, the accuracy of one's own operations should be controlled. Otherwise, if there are deviations in size or deformation of the legs when the ribs are tightened, it will be very difficult to restore stability. Nevertheless, the production of a table for a circular with your own hands is an absolutely real task for several hours.

For greater convenience, a hand-held circular saw can be mounted on a table. This design will help you quickly and easily process and saw wood parts.

Working with a circular saw mounted on a special table greatly simplifies the sawing process and is safe when using special devices.

In this article we will tell you for a hand-held circular saw with your own hands.

Circular saw table design

The table base for a circular saw can be wood or metal.

The tabletop is made of metal or sheet wood materials. A hole is made in it for a circular saw blade.

Supports run along the guides in the tabletop, which move the timber and any other sawing material.

First of all, the table should be comfortable, stable (do not stagger!), The surface of the tabletop should be flat. These factors will help a person avoid injury during work.

The hole in the base is cut for a specific brand of saw

Before you start cutting the material and assembling the circular table, you need to calculate its dimensions and make a drawing.

The hole in the base must match the dimensions of the circular saw platform. For each brand of saw, this will be a specific size.

The plate installed on the countertop should not outweigh the table in one direction - the base must be resistant to external mechanical loads.

The dimensions of the countertop must match the flow.

For some, a folding table is enough, a small table with a removable circular saw. People who have a spacious workshop need a full-fledged table for a circular saw or even a circular machine.

Note: if it is planned to leave materials on the table during work, then the area of \u200b\u200bthe countertop should be at least a square meter. The optimal size for such a table is 120 x 120 cm.

Materials from which you can make a table for cutting wood:
  • solid wood;
  • Chipboard, chipboard, MDF, plywood;
  • metal (steel or aluminum).

Plastic is not well suited as a material for making a saw table.

Prior to final assembly, all wooden parts of the table should be protected from moisture and decay.

To make a saw table with our own hands, we need the following materials:

  • Chipboard or plywood 21 mm thick;
  • timber for the table frame (you can use a edging board 50 x 150 mm 3 meters long - 5 pcs.);
  • wooden dowels 10 mm - 12 pcs.;
  • joiner's glue;
  • metal fasteners for the sides and legs - 4 pcs.;
  • metal corners - 10 pcs.;
  • self-tapping screws.

Necessary tools for work:

  • pencil, marker, tape measure, meter;
  • jigsaw;
  • manual ;
  • Sander;
  • sandpaper of medium and fine grit;
  • plane;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver

Step 1. To begin with, we trim all sides of the beam with a planer. We assemble the frame of the table from the timber: on each side of the tabletop we drill two holes of 5 mm for dowels for each side and one hole for each table leg.

Step 2 In the sides you need to make two holes (5 mm), and in the legs - one each (5 mm).

Step 3 We install the dowels in the countertop, after lubricating them with wood glue. From above, the tsargs and legs are installed.

If there are clamps with ties, you can fix the table with them. After the glue has completely dried, the sides are fastened to the legs and to each other with special metal fasteners for tables and pulled together with self-tapping screws.

Note: the table will be stronger and more stable if you use metal corners for additional fastening of the tabletop: two on the short side and three on the long side.

Step 4 Now you need to fix the circular saw on the inside of the tabletop. There can be two options here: fasten the saw platform with M4 bolts or fasten the platform using bars with self-tapping screws. The first option is faster and more reliable. The second option does not require drilling holes in the metal platform for bolts.

Step 5 You can fix the saw with bolts or bars with self-tapping screws. We will fasten with bars, so in small bars we make a drink as wide as the saw platform. With bars with self-tapping screws on both sides, we fasten the circular saw to the tabletop.

Step 6 When the saw is installed, we take another larger bar and fasten it to the tabletop with self-tapping screws (directly to the points marked earlier, along which the saw platform was set evenly). This bar is necessary so that in the future, when removing the saw from the table, you can quickly return it to its place without resorting to marking.

Step 7 We install the circular saw blade in place and saw through the countertop to make a longitudinal hole. Flip the tabletop.

Step 8 We make a parallel stop. To do this, we saw off two strips from plywood with a length equal to the width of the table and a width of about 8–10 cm. We round the corners with a protractor and a pencil.

Step 9 We grind both strips and fasten them with self-tapping screws at an angle. Inside we fasten the metal corner.

Step 10 With constant work with a table for a circular saw and the need to fix the stop on the tabletop, a guide is fixed perpendicular to the disk. The roller or the second part of the guide is attached to the bottom of the stop so that the stop can drive up / drive away from the circular saw blade.

Workplace safety

In order not to be injured during work, it is necessary to carefully monitor the position of the saw table, its stability, strength.

Before each switching on of the circular saw, it is necessary to check whether it is well fixed in its place.

It is strictly forbidden to hold the cut material with your hands! This can lead to injury to the fingers or the tree bouncing in the face if knots and bumps get into it.

Also, be sure to wear protective goggles during operation to avoid injury to the eyes.
Do not neglect these simple rules, take care of your own health.

A circular saw is used to cut wood.

Using a hand saw is not always comfortable, using a table allows you to make the sawing process more even and accurate.

The cutting base has a plane resembling a disk, equipped with an outer edge with teeth. There are models not only of the manual type, but also with the possibility of fixing on the table.

It is difficult to work with large volumes of wood with a conventional circular saw, so it is better to install it on a table

There are several ways to acquire the latter for the convenience of performing manipulations. A table for a circular saw can be built independently, strictly adhering to a certain pattern.

Table device for a circular saw

The table is made taking into account the fact that the hand tool will be installed and fixed on the table, turning into stationary equipment.

Do-it-yourself construction of the element allows you to make the saw as suitable as possible for individual conditions. Difficulties in the process will not arise if you carefully study the issue. You can adjust the product to the desired size, distribute everything so that it is convenient for you.

Making a table for a circular saw is quite within the power of every craftsman

The self-made model will be one of a kind, which makes it unique.

Small desktop stand for circular

Deciding on design and construction

The simplest option for a circular table is a construction made of fairly thick plywood and boards.

The base can be made of wood or metal. For countertops, leafy tree species are chosen. It should make a special hole for the disk. The key property of the created table should be convenience.

Circular machine bed

You should take care of its stability. No loosening is allowed, otherwise it will negatively affect safety. The table top should be as flat as possible. This will reduce the risk of injury at work.

A table for a circular saw requires the presence of guides

The structure can be supplemented with a special riving knife. He can take off. It is equipped with a special disc protection that allows you to get rid of chips flying into the worker.

Circular table guide carriage

Some remove the factory casing and change the factory platform to a homemade one. If you are not going to cut at an angle, you can remove the parts that adjust the inclination of the blade.

Blueprints

Scheme for making a table for a circular saw

Before starting work, it is recommended to go through the preparatory stage. Be sure to make a drawing. This will make the design process easier. First calculate the dimensions of the table, then transfer the data to paper. The hole made in the structure must exactly match the dimensions of the saw. It all depends on the brand of equipment. Therefore, it is impossible to make a universal hole. The base must be stable and well withstand mechanical loads.

Do-it-yourself circular table drawing

It is unacceptable to hang the structure to one side. The dimensions of the worktop must be suitable for the sawing flow. The final option is determined based on individual desires. Some work comfortably with a folding table or a product with small dimensions.

Drawing of a universal desktop machine

The drawings should take into account an important point. If you plan to leave tools or materials on the table during work, then the dimensions of the countertop must be increased to a square meter in area. A suitable size would be 120 by 120 cm. You should draw carefully and slowly in order to do everything correctly.

It is not recommended to use plastic, it is completely unsuitable for a table of this purpose. If wood is selected, then after assembly is completed, the product should be treated with a special antiseptic composition. This will provide reliable protection against moisture and help to avoid rotting.

To make a saw table yourself, you need to prepare the materials.

  1. Selected raw materials for the base. The thickness should be 21 mm.
  2. The beam needed for the frame. Suitable edged board 3 meters long with dimensions of 50 by 150 mm. All you need is 5 pieces.
  3. Dowels made of wood with dimensions of 10 cm. At least 12 pieces.
  4. Joiner's glue.
  5. Metal fasteners in the amount of 4 pieces.
  6. Metal corners. Enough 10 pcs.
  7. Self-tapping screws.

These elements must be prepared in advance and placed near the workplace.

Required Tools

In addition to materials, tools should be prepared.

Among them:

  1. pencil and marker;
  2. measuring instruments, including a meter and tape measure;
  3. jigsaw;
  4. manual frezer;
  5. grinding machine;
  6. sandpaper (should have medium or fine grit);
  7. planer and drill;
  8. screwdriver

You need to prepare everything in advance and keep it on hand throughout the process.

Manufacturing process: step by step instructions

Marking the place where the saw is attached to the table

Marking and fastening of stiffeners

Finished tabletop for circular saw

To make a quality construction, you need to follow some tips. The process consists of several steps presented in the table.

Steps Description
1 The bar should be leveled on all sides with a planer. Then the frame of the future table is assembled from it. In each side of the tabletop, you need to drill several holes of 5 mm. Additionally, one through is performed for the legs of the product.
2 In the drawers, several holes of the same diameter are made. In the legs, one through is performed. The diameter remains the same, 5 mm.
3 Proceed to install the dowels in the countertop. Before that, they are covered with wood glue. Legs and tsars are placed on top. In the presence of clamps with screeds, the product should be fixed with their help. When the glue is completely dry, you need to fasten the sides and legs using special metal fasteners. Additionally, it should be tightened with self-tapping screws. You can add reliability and strength to the structure by using the corners. They will become an element of additional fastening, give the product stability. For the short side, 2 pieces are enough, and for the long side, 3 will do.
4 The next step involves fixing the saw to the product from the inside. There are several methods to accomplish the task. M4 bolts or bars with self-tapping screws are suitable for fixing. The first case is fast and reliable. The second method does not involve additional holes, which eliminates the need for drilling. It is necessary to make a drink in bars, the width of which is equal to the dimensions of the saw platform. Further, self-tapping screws and bars on both sides fasten the equipment and the countertop
5 After installing the saw, you will need another larger bar. It, using self-tapping screws, is fixed on the basis of the structure. Screwing is carried out on the marks made when placing the platform in a level position. These manipulations will help, when removing the saw, to return it usually quickly without searching for markings.
6 The saw blade is set in place. The base is sawn to obtain a longitudinal hole. Then the product must be turned over
7 Then begin the manufacture of a parallel stop. Two strips are sawn off from plywood. Their length should match the width of the table. On average, these dimensions are 10 cm. Corners should be rounded
8 The resulting strips are polished. They need to be fastened at an angle with self-tapping screws. A metal corner should be screwed inside
9 If you need to fix the stop on the base and the structure will be used often, you should attach the guide so that it is perpendicular to the disk. Attach the roller on the bottom. This will allow him to move.

Fixing legs to the table

Attaching the saw to the tabletop

Fixing the start button

The design is completed and ready for use. When performing the described manipulations, it is important to remember that safety measures are observed. It also applies to any manipulations with a circular saw.

Regularly check the position of the table and its strength. The design must be stable, without loosening.

First make sure that the saw is securely fastened, only then turn it on. Do not hold the cut material with your hands. This will help keep the wood from getting in your face when the knots start to bounce. In addition, it is recommended to use special protective goggles when working.

Be sure to use protective goggles for your safety.

These simple tips will help you avoid injury in the workplace.

Video: Circular table made from improvised materials

A hand-held circular saw is a powerful tool with high productivity. One of the main advantages of a circular saw is that maneuverability becomes a disadvantage when large volumes of wood need to be cut. To simplify the process, you can easily assemble a table for a circular saw with your own hands.

Table device

The design of the table for a manual circular saw is so simple that most craftsmen make it without preliminary drawings and diagrams. This is a sturdy workbench that is made from wood and plywood. The most reliable table bases are made of metal. They are the heaviest and require the skills of a welder. Therefore, more often coasters are made from lumber waste. A circular saw is attached under the tabletop, the disk protrudes above it through a specially made slot. Timber is moved along the countertop and sawn with a rotating disc. For convenience and accuracy of work, the table is equipped with additional devices: angular and longitudinal emphasis.

The tabletop "eats" part of the working surface of the disc, the depth of cut will decrease by the thickness of the tabletop. Therefore, it is desirable to select a circular saw with a maximum disc diameter, and a thin but rigid tabletop.

If the saw has not yet been purchased, select models with high power (from 1200 W). They can cut through large volumes of wood. Holes will be drilled in the sole for fastening: the molded base may crack. Therefore, it is advisable to choose a tool with a stamped sole.

Selection of materials

To make a good stand for a hand-held circular saw, you should remember carpentry skills, be patient and a small amount of materials:

  • laminated plywood 15 - 20 mm;
  • timber 50 x 50;
  • board;
  • switch;
  • external socket;
  • piece of electrical cable;
  • PVA glue;
  • wood varnish (if the plywood is not laminated);
  • self-tapping screws.

And tools:

  • jigsaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • drill;
  • ruler.

The size of the countertop will depend on the area of the workshop. However, on a table that is too small, it will be inconvenient to cut long pieces. If the entire part fits on the work surface, the cut is smoother and more accurate. The height of the legs is selected depending on the height of the master.

For a small workshop, a desktop design with approximate dimensions of 50 x 50 x 25 cm is convenient.

Table making process

  1. From a sheet of laminated plywood, we cut out the countertop of the required size. The marking is applied to the lower plane using a metal ruler and a pencil. We cut the plywood with an electric jigsaw, mill the edges if necessary. If the plywood is not laminated, we clean the surface of the table with sandpaper.
  2. We turn over and from the bottom we make markings for attaching a manual circular. To do this, remove the disc from the tool and set it with the sole in the desired place. We make marks on the table top and on the sole for fasteners and a groove for the saw blade. We drill holes for the bolts. They will be screwed from above, through the countertop and from below held by nuts. Therefore, from the side of the working surface, we countersink the holes, and grind the bolt heads so that they do not protrude.
  3. If you plan to cut the material at different angles, the slot for the saw blade is made in the form of an inverted trapezoid. For even sawing, a regular groove is made. Before cutting the slot and holes for fasteners, attach a saw, correct the marks, and only then cut.
  4. Mark with a pencil the location of the stiffeners. They are made from a board and installed from below 8 - 9 cm from the edge of the countertop. We will attach the legs of the table to the ribs. The ribs are fixed with self-tapping screws at intervals of 15 - 25 centimeters, additionally glued with PVA. Self-tapping screws are screwed in from above, through the countertop, the heads are completely recessed. The ribs are fastened together with long self-tapping screws.
  5. The legs of the table are made of a bar or board, their length will be from 100 to 113 cm. The legs, slightly diverging downwards, will give greater stability. They are fixed on large bolts, twisted from the outside, fastened with nuts from the inside. Screeds from a bar will additionally strengthen the frame.
  6. To adjust the height of the table, nuts are attached from below, into which M14 bolts are screwed.
  7. Now you can fix the saw from below by passing the disc into the prepared slot.
  8. We attach an electrical outlet to the inside of the table, pass an electrical wire from it and install the switch in a convenient place (on the outer part of the stiffener). The outlet will be powered by the switch. From it we stretch the wire to the nearest power source in the workshop. Using a construction tie, we fix the ON-OFF button on the body of the circular saw in a recessed position.

Let's start making auxiliary stops. For the longitudinal stop, you will need a #30 aluminum square tube and two screws with wing nuts.

  1. We saw off a piece of pipe along the length of the countertop, cut holes for the screws 3 cm from the edge.
  2. We cut out two clamps from pieces of plywood. The structure is ready.
  3. For sawing across the table, we make a plywood sled. We align them relative to the edges of the table, press and move along the jagged circle. In the place where the circle passes in the sled, we cut a groove. Small parts can be stacked directly inside the sled and sawn.

Dust removal is organized from under the table, but most of the dust is scattered from above, so it’s a good idea to supplement the device with an upper dust outlet.

Working with a circular saw is very dangerous, so care must be taken to protect your fingers. Cut out a pusher from a piece of board or furniture board.

Additions to the design

This design can be supplemented with a riving knife, which will be removed. Put on a disc protection on it, which cuts off the flow of chips flying directly into the carpenter.

Some masters, assembling a table according to unique drawings, completely remove the factory protective cover, and replace the factory platform with a home-made one. If you do not plan to cut at an angle, you can also remove all devices for adjusting the blade tilt. The saw is fixed directly on the new base, which allows you to gain a few millimeters of cutting depth.
