Why is the Topas 5 septic tank popular with owners of country houses?

When building a house, the issue of home improvement must be addressed at the planning stage. If possible, it is worth choosing modern technical solutions, abandoning such archaisms as building a cesspool. If the volume of drains in the house is small (does not exceed one cubic meter per day), then the Topas 5 septic tank will be an ideal solution to the problem of waste disposal.

In former times, storage cesspools were built to dispose of wastewater. Such a structure has many disadvantages, the main of which is the need for regular pumping. Today, for the improvement of any object, you can use more modern, safe and effective solutions - biological treatment plants. They are produced in different capacities. So, for a small amount of wastewater, the Topas 5 autonomous sewage system is ideal. Let's figure out how this installation works and what are its technical characteristics.

How is cleaning done?

Biological treatment stations, unlike storage tanks, do not just accumulate wastewater, but provide high-quality treatment. Thanks to the processes taking place in the station, it is possible to remove almost all impurities present in it.

The station uses the simplest, but at the same time the most effective cleaning principle - biological. That is, the same processes take place inside the installation as in nature, only in the station everything happens much faster.

Let's see how the installation works. All processes take place inside the station, technically pure water is supplied to the outlet, which can be dumped onto the ground without additional purification. Once inside, the liquid sequentially passes through four compartments, gradually freeing itself from impurities.

The station uses the principle of settling, as well as biological purification with the help of aerobic bacteria. In order for anaerobic bacteria to perform their functions, air is supplied to the working environment; for this, a compressor is installed inside the station.

Cleaning order

Consider the principle of operation of the Topas biological treatment plant in more detail:

  • through a pipe connected to the nozzle of the installation, drains enter the receiving chamber;
  • here primary purification is carried out, while the principle of settling is used. In addition, the oxygen supply is periodically turned on in the receiver (it is provided by a compressor), the liquid is saturated with oxygen and mixed with a biological substance, light activated sludge;
  • then the liquid with the help of an airlift (the compressor also provides the air pumps) enters the second chamber. An aerator is installed here, through which the compressor supplies a large amount of oxygen. Therefore, the processes of oxidation and purification occur as quickly as possible;
  • after the main cleaning process, the liquid enters the secondary sump. Here again the principle of settling is used, the liquid is separated into pure water and activated sludge;
  • water is sent to the outlet, and activated sludge is divided into fractions. The “old” heavy sludge is sent to the sump, and the light sludge enters the first and second compartments to take part in the next cleaning cycle.

Advice! Despite the rather complicated cleaning scheme, the installation works automatically. The owner will only need periodic maintenance of the unit. Recommendations for the care of the installation are given in the instruction manual.

Characteristics and operation

The "youngest" model in the Topas septic tank line is designed to serve a house with up to five people. The main technical characteristics of the installation:

  • daily productivity - 1000 liters / day;
  • volley discharge (the volume of liquid that the installation is able to take in a short time) - 220 liters;
  • energy intensity - 1.5 kW / day.

The units are 1100 mm long and 1200 mm wide. Weight and height will depend on the chosen modification.

Advice! Sufficiently compact dimensions, which the biological treatment station has, will allow you to easily find a site for its installation.

Main modifications:

  • standard;
  • Topas 5 pr;
  • Topas 5 long.

Standard

The standard version of the station has a height of 2500 mm and a weight of 250 kilograms. The body of the unit is made of polypropylene, equipped with stiffeners. When installing, it is necessary to cut the inlet pipe at a height of 0.8 meters. This model is ideal for use in the southern regions, where deep laying of sewer pipes is not required, as well as for summer cottages.

Long

If you need to lay a sewer pipe at a greater depth, you must use Topas 5 long. This station has the same features as the standard model. The only difference between Topas 5 long is the increased neck height.

Thanks to this quality, when installing Topas 5 long, the inlet pipe is inserted at a height of up to 1.4 meters from the ground. Therefore, Topas 5 long is recommended to be installed in regions with cold winters.

The weight of the station Topas 5 long is 300 kilograms, that is, it is somewhat heavier than the standard model. The total height of the Topas 5 long model is 3100 mm. Therefore, to install the Topas 5 long station, a deeper pit is required than for the installation of a standard model.

Forced withdrawal

Gravity water drainage is provided in standard models and in Topas 5 long station. In the event that this is not possible, it is necessary to use the Topas 5 pr modification. Its difference is the presence of an additional function - forced pumping of water supplied to the outlet. Installing Topas 5 pr is necessary:

  • with high-lying soil waters;
  • when installing the station in clayey or waterlogged soils.

The Topas 5 pr installation is completed with additional equipment, the kit includes:

  • a container in which water supplied through the outlet pipe accumulates;
  • a pump that turns on when the tank is full and runs until the water is pumped out of the tank.

When installing Topas 5 pr, the connection of the supply pipe is made at a maximum level of 80 cm from the soil surface.

Advice! If there is a need to provide forced pumping of water and at the same time lay sewer pipes at great depths, it is necessary to choose Topas 5 long pr.

Service

During operation, Topas installations do not require special attention from the owners, however, maintenance of the station must be carried out regularly. The instruction manual attached to the model gives detailed instructions, so after reading the recommendations, you can carry out maintenance yourself.

For the equipment to work smoothly, you must:

  • once a month, carry out maintenance of the coarse fraction filter, remove and rinse it;
  • once every three months, clean the sludge receptacle. To perform maintenance, use the built-in sludge pump. The collected sediment can be composted and after some time used to fertilize horticultural crops;
  • once every two years, carry out preventive maintenance of the electrical part. It is necessary to remove the compressor and replace the membranes;
  • aerators need to be changed every 12-15 years.

If the biotreatment plant operates year-round, then you just need to carry out regular maintenance. If the station is used for operation only in the warm season, then it must be mothballed for the winter. It will be necessary:

  • pump out excess sludge;
  • fill the installation with water so that the liquid occupies two thirds of the volume of the chambers;
  • remove the compressor;
  • immerse plastic bottles filled with sand into each compartment of the installation. They are hung up, tied with a rope by the neck so that they are more than half immersed in the liquid.

In the spring, it will be necessary to remove the bottles from the chambers, install the compressor in place and start the installation. The station will return to normal operation in a few days. There is no need to use biopreparations.

The Topas 5 septic tank is a modern and efficient installation for receiving and treating household sewage. automatically, maintenance, if desired, can be carried out independently.
