Concrete well rings: dimensions

Despite the active use of modern materials in construction, reinforced concrete well rings are still relevant. The device is a structure made of a metal frame and concrete. The height of the rings can vary from 10 to 90 cm, and the diameter from 70 to 200 cm. The dimensions of concrete well rings are selected depending on the type and characteristics of communications. In addition, the tasks of using the structure are taken into account.

Design Application

Reinforced concrete rings are actively used in the creation of sewers, collectors and conventional wells. They are also used in the supply of electronic communications and gas pipelines.

According to GOST, cement M 200-500 should be used for the production of such structures. Goods of this spectrum are subject to mandatory labeling.

Marking of well rings in accordance with GOST

Reinforced concrete rings differ not only in dimensions, but also in marking. It is used to separate design assignments. The most common products in construction are with the following abbreviations:

  • KO - reference models used for the lower part of the entire system;
  • KFK is reinforced concrete products used in the construction of a drainage or sewerage system;
  • KLK - products are produced for urban drainage and sewer systems.

In addition to the letter designation, numbers are indicated in the marking. They are deciphered as the height and diameter of the structures.

Note! The first numerical designation indicates the diameter, and the second indicates the height of the ring.

Also, reinforced concrete structures are supplemented with additional parts, such as bottom overlap. In such a situation, the plate is marked PP or PC (for the bottom, which matches the diameter of the ring). Plates for the bottom are designated PD. Such designs give tightness to the system. They are laid on top and bottom to protect the structure from groundwater. In potable water wells, slabs are used to prevent soil and dirt from contaminating the water.

It is quite difficult to select concrete rings for a well, therefore, in order to avoid installation problems, such products are marked. It specifies the required values, such as diameter and height. In addition, the marking will allow you to find out how much a particular product will cost.

Dimensions of well structures

In addition to the rings themselves, other structures are used in communications of this type. For them, the size of reinforced concrete structures is selected individually, taking into account the calculations of the system. These types include additional and auxiliary structures. They are used to complement the main structural systems.

According to the regulations, concrete products are mounted in a prepared pit. When installing one structure on another, it is necessary to tightly join the edges. There should be no gaps or gaps between parts of the system. Cement is used to seal joints. In addition to the treatment of seams with a solution, high-quality waterproofing of all joints is necessary. The material for the procedure depends on the purpose of the well.

Modern models of reinforced concrete structures for wells are produced in two types: with a flat edge and with a lock. The first type is more common, but products with a lock are more reliable. They maintain their position even with strong ground movements. The lock of the rings is fastened according to the groove / comb type. This type of connection provides the well with the highest tightness.

Note! When installing the rings, first install the part with the bottom. Such a device will make the system cleaner and safer. For dead-end branches of the well, slab floors are used. In addition, such designs reduce the load on the entire communication system.

To comply with the well established standards, the installation of the structure can be carried out according to certain rules. In this case, you should work in a certain order:

  • Choosing the best location. Wells for water supply and drainage systems are not installed close to residential buildings. Usually they are mounted at a distance of 5 m from the house. There should be no groundwater in the place where the well will be equipped. Otherwise, you will need to spend additional funds on sealing the structure. Ensure free access to the installation site.
  • Digging a pit. For such a task, it is easier to hire special equipment. The hole must be made deep enough to fit 2 rings. It is quite difficult to dig it by hand. Sand and gravel should be poured to the bottom. This layer should be at least half a meter high.
  • Ring installation. To complete the lower tier, you will need to lay the bottom slab. Elements are mounted by a truck crane. The joint is reinforced with metal staples.

When the rings are installed, communications must be brought to the well. In addition, all connections should be made and the structure should be covered with a top plate. Then sewer hatches are installed.

Making reinforced concrete rings with your own hands

If the communication system requires a non-standard shape or size of the product, you can make it yourself. For the production of reinforced concrete rings, cement, sand, reinforcing bars and a mold of the required size are required.

The form is removed from the finished ring after 2-3 days have passed. The ring should then completely harden and dry. This will take a week.

Important! Finished products need to be moistened periodically. This will keep them from drying out in the sun and cracking.

findings

As you can see, concrete rings have certain advantages and are not deprived of disadvantages. They are quite durable, but they are very heavy. When choosing rings for a well, you need to familiarize yourself with the markings and types of such products. This will help you choose the best product for your needs. It is important to take into account the many subtleties of choice and installation. Calculations will help you choose such products at a price.
